Weird point to make given the amount of 23+ that started and then finished the game today as well.

"It (the young player policy) is the secret of this club". That isn't a criticism of the club at all.
That’s what I heard but it seems many are hearing another interview I assume…?

He wants footballers who are ready to jump into the squad and improve it straight away which is fair as we need that in midfield especially however it's a weird interview. He mentioned it 3 seperate times and how he/we have to "accept" the policy

Look at Newcastle. You can be at a club with all the money in the world and still be playing a 17 year old that’s got school in the morning and be down to the players who haven’t seen a pitch since the middle of last season.

Working in these constraints is part of being a manager at any club and he ought to know that by now.

They are listening to the Sky "let's create a controversy" comments rather than what he actually said.
Sun journalists in the making 🤣

Didn’t seem happy at all
He often talks about understanding what a fan feels so probably overly disappointed in not winning a rivalry game

Didn’t blame Bart exclusively for the goal also pointed out Baleba wasn’t offering a 2nd option for the pass. He wants some experience, presumably 27-28 years old (with no resale value but the point being you get value for money during their contract)

Spikey overall and I feel how we back him in this window determines his own contract situation
Granted he was a cheap option but I think this is what Dahoud was supposed to be. He had the pedigree for it, just hasn’t lived up to expectations which hasn’t helped our cause

Criticising "the policy of the club" in public is effectively criticising Mr Bloom.

Interesting career move for a man who has never won anything.
RDZ will be here for as long as he is here. Tony has given gazillions to support the project.

RDZ also knows that club wants to be self sustaining. He would have been told.

What he said is hardly a confidence shot to the younger players, (who also played with some signings whose fees were not cheap). Not happy with this interview. I thought Buona and Hinsh played well tonight.

If the club were willing to cough up £7m to have Fati here for a year, I'd say they are backing hm within the constraints.

Seeing that, it’s nowhere near as bad as I feared from hearing Sky’s reaction and some of the comments here. Seems like the usual (perhaps too) honest reaction and a statement of fact about the club’s policy. I’m sure he’d love to have a few more expensive senior pros - who wouldn’t?

Maybe it is more of a "don't blame me", to us, the fans.

I'm sure that Tony Bloom and the rest of Brighton's staff will support De Zerbi during the upcoming transfer window.

He also has the backing from us, the fans, which cannot be disregarded.

There is something special at our club, and it is excellently run from top to bottom, so I'll be surprised if he left to be honest.
I’m not as sure. We’ll sign players but I suspect they’ll all be investments. Many quite exciting investments maybe (Barco, Bhardji) but it feels like he wants some oven ready options as well and I’m not so sure he’ll get those

As far as I am aware, the transfer month hasn't even opened yet. We can't buy players at the moment.

Let's review in 6 weeks time.

FWIW if it's deemed we need players to progress in europe, I think uncle Tony WILL release funds.

I think the ‘we’ is an English as a second language thing. He’s talking about everyone.. fans, media, coaches.

I had the same reaction before it cut to sky. The way he said it 4 times. He’s a passionate guy with a clear vision for how he wants to play. In midfield in particular he doesn’t have the players to play how he wants to - and at Fb as well probably. He’ll be frustrated about that.
