[Albion] Trains for the Burnley game on Saturday

Obvious Whats meant that fans can get to and home from Falmer with a train entire journey changing at Brighton and other obvious places like to Seaford via Lewes unless on a direct
I've read this three times and still have no clue. Are the words in the right order ?

Who'd have thought we'd be getting excited about a home game against Burnley in December?

Although, that 2-2 back in 2016 was one of the best games I think 've watched at the Amex in terms of pure competitiveness and excitement. Kayal and Barton may as well have just had a fight in the centre circle while a game of football was being played around them for 90 minutes - brilliant stuff.
Amex matches against Burnley in December have provided some excellent entertainment - Albion 0 - 1 Burnley

I don't know what you mean by that, you can't run a train from Littlehampton to Falmer, as there is Brighton station in the way, and no direct line. The same with London.
Maybe 20 years ago, there were direct trains across Brighton, I think West Worthing to Seaford, reversing at Brighton. It completely messed up capacity on the mainline, of course, as well as reliability so they were scrapped. This was before Thameslink expanded when they rebuilt Blackfriars and London Bridge so the number of trains on the mainline was much fewer. Is it physically impossible to link across now?

No can still be done , only 4 coaches though and has to go into platform 3 at brighton to go either east or west

I knew someone would bring up that train! Yes it’s still possible now, via the far end of platform 3 which is both accessible from Lewes and Hove, but it absolutely tanks capacity and can’t be more than 4 coaches. I found a carriage working notice from 2002 a few years ago and there was a once a day Seaford to Bournemouth.

The pal@rse cattle service after the match presumably goes into Brighton and straight out or via Lewes then reverses/turns around to go via Plumpton.

At least they finally got round to - after several years :lol: - correcting the standard post-match train information. It now reads 'Certain trains departing from Falmer post-match will not stop at Moulsecoomb or London Road'
