Will be attending as can’t make the Burnley game, of which I can’t believe I’ve shifted tickets on the exchange within an hour! The last one wasn’t a classic

Perhaps the club as a one off can up the park n ride, bringing in more coaches, at a cost to them obviously.
I very much doubt they will have time to realistically do this and are as stuffed as everyone else (Obviously some ppl are fortunate to live local get lifts ride a bike etc etc)

As the problems with trains is becoming such a regular issue for so many supporters I wonder what is being done (if anything) to try and help fans. This is not a have a go at the club, but I'm simply wondering what can be done. Obviously there are limits to the number of extra busses and park and rides and even with all the efforts you will never get everyone there that used the train. I'm also saying is it really fair to fans to not have loyalty points added because of all this (obviously could be impractical to adjust nevertheless feels unjust). Personally I would like to se ethe club always try and keep trying with as much force possible to get these games moved to a day when trains are running. It means the train strikers don't affect travel and importantly the game goes on with as much inconvenience to fans as possible. Yes easier said than done when we have all the Euro games but I'm sure its possible, where there is a will there is a way! Especially when you consider Brentford will also affect the many away fans that will travel to the game. I'm envious of those living locally and I do sometimes have that luxury too and can make it there relatively closer than others but often not and can be travelling some distance due to a range of personal circumstances. Looks like I will have to watch Brentford on Amazon. It sucks having paid out and then having to pay again knowing I could be there if it wasn't for the train strikers. The article in the Argus about double std and fans agreeing with strikers (really? Im not sure many do!) anyway of course come match day fans just wanna get to the ground. You know in all honestly there were times when Withdean wasn't so bad after all, Yes I sat in the miserable rain poncho and all that just saying it wasn't all that bad!

I just cannot be arsed to get involved in another midweek trainless shitstorm. I used to be obsessive about getting to every game I could, but as I get older I find it just becomes less important. The Amex travel logistics post-covid have never properly recovered, just too many factors now have f*cked it all up, and its not just the appalling excuse of the train "service" either.

I shall find a warm comfortable barstool, and on the final whistle I shall congratulate myself on my decision NOT to be there. I'll have nothing more than a 10 minute wobble home, back to the safety of my armchair at least 90-120 minutes earlier than if I'd gone.

I was only reading about this train drivers dilemma over the weekend…wondering how he coped

An extract

Despite stubbornly high interest rates on new mortgages, Mr Brown, 38, is desperate to become a buy-to-let landlord.

He currently works as a train driver, earning £90,000 a year including overtime. It was his third career change since he left university, having previously tried his hand at being a teacher and personal trainer respectively.

“I was a bit lost at 30, earning minimum wage in the gym and living at my parents’ place,” he said.

Since starting as a train driver, Mr Brown has been a diligent saver: he has £25,000 in cash, £50,000 in Isas, and £200,000 in pension savings, having made use of voluntary contributions to make up for his time as a PT. The only debt he has left is his student loan – a mere £5,000.

Is that really genuine?!
