Nothing wrong with a bit of good old anglo-saxon swearing, although context and direction of swearing important considerations. My son SHOCKED me last week with some of the filth that was tumbling out of his mouth. He was proper cross, but I felt he'd crossed a line on that occasion, so he got a telling off from his mum. He's 25, by the way.

I swear a lot, always have, and not just at football. I can't help it, it's part of who I am, especially when I'm passionate about something.

A couple of seasons ago I had to apologise to the woman sitting near me after I got a bit overexcited and dropped a c-bomb in the direction of Maupay. I could see she was clearly upset by the use of the word so at half time I spoke to her and apologised, I always make a point of saying hello to her now and I've dialed down the swearing.

Following on from my post on the luzzing thread it was suggested I start a poll so lets see how this goes and if it works. Out of the following which do you consider acceptable?

I never sang along with a song at home games (and only managed a mumble away) till I hit 40. After that, I decided that the best fun was to be had at football by treating it like panto. So I've been singing for 25 years. Tra-la-la.

I guess it would depend on what chant. I expect virtually everyone sings along to at least "Albion, Albion" occasionally but according to the poll very few sing along to the Zaha one. My ears tell me differently though as plenty seem to join in the latter at Selhurst and I heard it sung at Marseille and Ajax by enough.

When I go in the home end at away matches I often give the *anker sign to Albion fans pretty
much the whole match, sometimes to the exclusion of the game itself.

You should see the looks I get when they see, whether by chance or design, my Albion shirt underneath
my jacket.

Me too, I'm getting worse though. I swear at inanimate objects, if something falls from a shelf, if something surprises me my first reaction is F Off. My dogs have learnt swearing, they know when to stop pulling when FFS gets rolled out, sit looking panicked if the swearniess gets worse.

I do promise to reduce it on a regular basis but I dont seem able to prevent it. Not good, but...

Yes, I don't think this board is a great representation of our match going support, especially away fans. Before the semi final it felt like everyone was singing that Zaha song in and around the pub.

I find class based chants to be generally awful. I'm glad our fanbase rarely engages in any of that.
