I think when it was delivered the pilot light was broken. We were trying to light it with a world leading British match, but they wouldn’t spark and kept snapping in two as they were struck.

Eventually we tried to switch it off before we all gassed ourselves, but inevitably the knob fell off.

We called the Fire Brigade but they said that they’d take two hours to get there, and we worked out that if we let the place burn down and then rebuilt it, it would still be cheaper than paying the excess plus increased premiums on our home insurance.

Honestly, everything’s fine.

Not necessarily a party political point as it is one of the big problems all parties have to find a solution to, but all imply they can tax less and spend more. I don’t believe they actually think is viable but to deny it costs too many votes.

The answer is to spend wisely instead of lining donor’s and cronies pockets. Sunak’s wife, for example, pocketing millions for the childcare scheme, and billions written off furlough scams.

I don’t think there is one big solution. There is going to have to be many different solutions for the next government to avoid hiking individual tax. For example, private schools will have to pay VAT and business rates, this money will go straight to state schools.

They should be closing IHT loopholes like trusts, the 7 year rule etc.

I have always votes Conservative except for a couple of times recently when I voted for Mr Farage to ensure that Brexit got done. Now however I find it very hard to consider voting Conservative again for many reasons. On the other hand what alternatives are there? Labour? Never in a million years. Lib-Dem? No chance? Green? Never. So maybe I'll have to hope that Rishi will indeed change things in the Conservative Party and once again vote blue.
