Another for the “people you thought were already dead” thread.
Absolutely this!

A real staple of Saturday night TV as a kid in the 70's. Donkey's years later whenever there's any reference to politicians like Harold Wilson or Dennis Healey I still think of his impressions................."what a silly Billy".

The other impression that springs to mind was that of rugby commentator Eddie Waring

I liked him and the shows but he was a shit impressionist… At the end of the show when he said, “and this is me “

The biggest urban myth was dispelled, Xmas night 1977 was the biggest TV audience ever recorded for one channel, but it wasn’t the Morecambe and Wise Show with 28 million viewers, because official figures indicated that Yarwood had an audience of 29 million the show directly before Eric and Ernie.

RIP a genuine showbiz legend.

He just disappeared off the screens, I wonder why ?
Didn't mind him though.
RIP Mike.
I may be way off here but I think he may have had some off screen problems

Acknowledging a previous post, I thought he'd died a long time ago! :moo:

RIP and all that. I was aged 0 to 10 in the 70's so don't much remember him, but I do remember he was big.

RIP Mike.
His show was cancelled in the late 80 s and that was pretty much it for him.

Before my time, but really enjoy watching his clips on YouTube. You can tell Jon Culshaw has taken huge inspiration from him! RIP

Surprised he was only 82.

Used to love his show when I was a kid.
I won't look up any old clips as I suspect that would spoil the memories.

RIP
