Curious that he says the increased sales are due to social media engagement and not due to success on the pitch.
They'll presumably have analytics that tell them how many online sales have come via a click from a social media post, so can probably directly link the two.

No doubt those clicks are partly coming from success of the team though, especially in Japan, Ecuador etc I imagine

On the Border
I would be surprised if they released a Europa shirt after 1000's of people have already paid ridiculous money for the Europa font and patches on our new shirts.

Kids will be screaming for their parents to shell out another £70 odd quid after already laying out a fortune.
No, as it our Europa League strip, it will only be sold in Euros and will cost €100

This is the quote

"In turn, significant engagement with fans through our social media channels is also helping us to smash all previous replica shirt sale records: home shirt sales are up over 200%, while our new away shirt is outselling last year’s by almost 70%.
Overall, we have sold more than double the shirts we sold at this stage of the season last year - and we still have a surprise to come! Once again, our biggest challenge is meeting demand despite, once again, significantly larger orders being placed."
i know a lot of people give the club stick for not having enough stock, but every year the club are breaking the shirt sales records, and not by just a few shirts, but by massive margins. To be 200% up on last year, itself a record year, means they will have had to order three times the quantity and that still wouldn't have been enough. Its hard to imagine anyone signing off on that kind of increase, year on year, especially in a year with the cost of living crisis very much in full flow.

I cant recall the last season when shirt sales weren't substantially higher than the previous season, not since pre Amex I expect. I would love to know the number of shirts sold year on year- it must now be (for us) a staggering number

Would be interested in what those percentages mean in terms of numbers. Any ideas anyone?

He's going to allow flasks and bottle tops back in? 🤞🏻
I think bottle tops are back in (or on). The new design is for them to be recycled, so they stay attached when you open the bottle. Certainly saw bottle tops in the East Stand at the Luton game...

They're going to give me back my packet of wine gums that the steward confiscated 2 years ago (as apparently I might have thrown them on to the pitch).
That would be sweet revenge!

Not in WSU today! :( Somewhat conspicuously the serving staff are having to wrestle the top off the bottle.
