Yes, it was a bit messy, but this is the daft woo woo world and economics of the Prem and the hypocrisy of those having a pop at him should perhaps ask themselves what they would have done in his shoes/boots.
Simple - sign for Liverpool.

I agree with the OP and others.

I don't want to see Caicedo'd career die. I would like to see him be the best player in a Chelsea team that never wins anything ever.
Caicedo playing to the best of his ability would/will enable success for Chelsea. That’s the deal with the devil everyone is grappling with on here. Fence not an option.

You wait until we play them. The toxic nature of last season will be greatly surpassed and we will delight in that atmosphere against everything Chelsea with special treatment to miserable wanker in goal, the money grabbing wanker in midfield and the hair bear on the bench.

They don't just deserve a booooooooooooooooooo they deserve a f***ing booooooooooooooooo so,

f***ing Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Won't be booing Levi Colwill, that's for sure

I suppose it's from our small club days, but I have always been quite pleased when our players have gone on and had success elsewhere at a higher level (or maybe recenty at a bigger club rather than a higher level). It was good to see 'our boys' like Lawro and Robbo playing for the league champions, great to see Bobby Z in the PL.
I felt quite defensive for Ben White when Arsenal fans made it clear they wanted Saliba in the team, not him, and for Biss when Conte pretty much came out and said he wasn't as good as what he'd already got (that statement is looking pretty silly now!) Even Tross and Sanchez, although both have attracted some vitriol on here, basically they didn't get on with a new manager, or like what he wanted them to do. It happens.
Caicedo though.....I guess back when he signed his new contract there was a verbal promise that we wouldn't stand in his way if a big club came in for him, or something like that. So - we arrange a British record transfer to let him go to one of the biggest and best clubs in the land (sorry Liverpool haters, but that's what they are) - and he turns round and says 'no thank you, I'm not interested in stepping up a grade or playing in Europe, I just want the money' - then my sympathy and loyalty I normally feel to 'our player' rather goes out of the window.

Well, bully for you. For whatever reasons, Caicedo wanted to move to Chelsea. More dosh, preferred location, other personal reasons etc. Anyway, it appears that our club made a bit more cash out of his move to Chelsea so I would reckon they are pretty pleased with that.

Unless a club legend like Zamora I really couldn’t care less how a player’s career develops once they’ve forced their way out of the door. Caicedo played a whopping 46 games for us, he was dropping his knickers for any club that was prepared to throw wages at him. Add to the fact that he’s joined the Chelsea circus, currently one of the worst run football teams in world football, then no, I think I’ll enjoy the moment for a little while longer.

It’s also amusing to see Colwill looking lost without Dunk next to him.
I really wish Caicedo no ill . . . . But . . . . . Yeah . . . . . . This.

I want the Chelsea project to fail.
I was disappointed when the Liverpool transfer fell through, as Caicedo to Liverpool would have been a massive dent in Chelsea's prospects.

I'm hoping that Caicedo's form will dip for long enough to prevent them making Champions League for a couple of seasons.
Other than that, I expect him to have a stellar career.

On reflection of yesterday’s events, whilst it was hilarious to see Chelsea lose, I have reflected and feel we may have taken too much delight in Caicedo’s failings. he was a fantastic player for us, but he is young. I do’t want to see his confidence take such a blow that it puts his career off track.
One thing is for sure if his confidence takes a blow it will be pressure from Chelsea fans not Albion fans. In fact they have started already. Maybe you should pop along to the shed end with your lame opinions.

He felt confident enough to engineer a record breaking move and accompanying salary; confidence shouldn’t be an issue.

Our entire model is (currently) based on being a good development/stepping stone club for talented youngster, then we all get upset and have a hissy fit when players treat us as so. Football fans are weird.

I don't think people are having "hissy fits" tbh. We're just revelling in the joke of a club that is Chelsea and the bad luck of players
who jumped ship for purely financial reasons.

The 'hissy fit' is about how he left. We will applaud Biss and Ali Mac when they come back to the Amex, the others.....not so much

Footballs tribal innit

Why would I want another teams player to do well? Less than 50 appearances and another one who went on strike and down tools apparently by going missing for a week. No legend status in my eyes despite accepting he’s a generational talent.

He’s having a bad time at the minute, oh no

......and wouldn't it be wonderful if he has to force a move away to achieve it!

I don't think we should begrudge fans a little chortle after such a long drawn out sorry transfer saga has finally come to an end. Lol.
