Dinosaurs.

165 million years of existence. Homo sapians 300,000 years.
Dinosaurs preceded man by 65 million years. The demise of the dinosaurs probably made it possible for mammals to arise.

I love Vienna, so dramatic. Dolce was a chancer.
Joe was a second generation Italian immigrant immortalising his family and childhood experiences. He was doing for his community what 'Goodness Gracious Me' did for Asian families in the 1990s.

Midge had never been to Vienna, wrote a load of nebulous tripe and made a pretentious video. 'This means nothing to me.' - Me either Midge.

... Mumbled the Jehovah's Witness as he shuffled back up the path after another door was slammed in his face.

There is nothing at all wrong with having faith. If it helps you, then great. However, we are all different and need different things. Insisting that your faith means you know more than others do is, to say the least, a bit wearing. We are all, to an extent, seeking our own truths. They are not your truths. Please accept this and stop haranguing people for being different to you.
He's come here. He's come to a thread about Christianity, decided to declare that there is no God, but then can't be arsed to engage beyond that. I haven't gone knocking on his door. I've never gone knocking on anyone's door to talk to them about religion in my life, except once possibly when I was about 17 on a Christian camp thing where they had us pair up and do it. That'd be the one and only time. I wasn't mega-keen on it, I guess.

Time for a Bible quiz now.
Who knows what the forbidden chapter is?
Me sir! Me!

Is it the one at the beginning that says:

"The story, all names, characters, and incidents portrayed in this book are fictitious. No identification with actual persons, living or deceased (or both) is intended or should be inferred?"

;)

So the old testament at least isn't factually accurate. Good to know.
Well, unlike some people I go where the evidence leads. I could be wrong, but who am I to argue with the scientists?
Now as to whether or not Genesis is to be taken literally, that's another thing. St Augustine of Hippo contended that it was not, and that was a millennium and a half before Darwin.

He doesn't have to engage. He has an opinion. It's his opinion. He owes you nothing in the way of engagement beyond what he chooses to offer. His choice not to engage further, in no way invalidates his opinion.

Back when Peter Gabriel was still the lead singer?

I think that God is expecting us to use a bit of common sense.
Talking snake. Sounds a bit mythical. Allegorical. Like I said, even St Augustine sussed that much out. That's where I stand on that at the moment, pending some sort of divine revelation about it. I know there are believers who take it literally, and I suppose they could be right, but I remain to be convinced.

Sure, that's fine.
Am I allowed to make the comment I made, too? I mean, he did say that he couldn't be arsed.

St Augustine was before Peter Gabriel.
Was Peter Gabriel in Genesis?
I just know about Phil Collins.

You can say what you like, but I asked you a question some pages back that you chose not to answer. Fine, that's your choice. - In the same way that it's @wellquickwoody 's choice not to care about things that you care about.

I guess that blows the fairy tale about Adam & Eve out of the water then.
If it is a fairy tale, it's replete with spiritual truth. That's not a cop-out, I genuinely mean that.

His motives may be more noble that midge's and he may have been less of a pretentious pillock (much less) but his song was still more irritating.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah....

You believe what you want that is fine, crack on.

Stop trying to convince others that do not, why do this ?
Unless of course your having doubts about your faith ?

You can show me as many crackpot discussions you can find on GodTube as you want, you will NOT alter my mind.

I can tell you one thing, your wasting your time on me.

Your poxy religion has cost millions of lives, they have invaded countries, tortured, enslaved, raped, pillaged and sodomised all over the world throughout the centuries all in the name of your so called jesus and god.

I am not comfortable with that, if you are then fine.

I've never put anybody on ignore before, but then I haven't seen anybody else posting Jordan Peterson videos. Please don't. He is evidence of the fallibity of the statement that titles this thread.
