Question is do we give this game up a la the Newcastle game and put out a full strength team versus Villa, or do we go for it?

Personally think we should just go for it because our chances of getting something at home to a City side who have already won the title are probably similar to us getting something from an up for it Villa at Villa Park.

Therefore would go with Sundays side but give Gross a rest and have Gilmour starting in his place.

Absolutely no idea. I reckon it'll be a fairly strong side though, as it's out last home game.

I do hope he targets the Sunday game for points though. Fifth is still there, and Villa fans are convinced they'll win and Europe is theirs. I'd love it if we battered them just to spite them, and Brentford took 7th instead.

If he plays Mac / Moises it suggests it could be a swan song at the Amex for them

Strong side. Pick up the much needed point to secure Europa League and then enjoy the day out on Sunday.

Couple of players need a rest, that is clear. Still expect us to 100% go for this one.

We can win this game. They've just won the league and have a Champions League final coming up. If we go into them at 100 miles an hour they might not fancy it at all. We never play for a point anyway. Winning our last two games would be a phenomenal end to the season.

Whatever team we play I hope we keep it relatively sensible at the back and don’t allow ourselves to get carved up like Everton or that VARd off goal Sunday . A heavy loss will leave me feeling a lot more twitchy about the Villa game if they think they have any chance of closing the goals difference gap.

Slightly surprised so soon after Everton that the train of thought is we can match the best club side in world (?) football going head to head.
I think we can.

City are good, but every team loses sometimes.

Our recent record against the top sides is utterly incredible

They start favourites, but i'm very confident we'll compete and give them a decent game

Fifth is only there if we win both games though, so we need the points against City to enable us to go for it against Villa.

I think RDZ will go with a very strong team. He will want to make a statement, and if it pays off, we can get a result against the best team in the league/Europe. If we can do this, why would we fear Sevilla/Milan/Porto next season.

-------------Steele
Veltman Van Hecke Dunk Colwill
--------Gilmour Caicedo
---Enciso MacAllister Mitoma
-----------Ferguson

But 4 early subs to rest and rotate for Sunday. On 50 mins the team looks like this

-------------Steele
Caicedo Van Hecke Dunk Colwill
---------Gilmour Gross
---Enciso Buenanotte Welbeck
------------Undav

Some quick justifications

Pervis has surely earned a night off
Veltman plays to hack a few down. See if we can get them to withdraw key players early
Welbeck has played most of his best football in his career out on the left, that's where he mostly featured for England and he had a good scoring record from there.
Let's get Facu a chance in the middle.
