[Albion] PASSING ON A TICKET WARNING

This is a warning to anyone thinking of selling on there spare ticket(s). I wish someone had warned me!!

I confess to being ignorant of the terms and conditions of ticket sales as I suspect are many supporters.
I tried to get a refund for my ticket to the semi-final on Sunday and was told I could not.
So being someone who did not want to see the ticket go to waste or see an Albion supporter who really wanted to go but was denied as they were all sold out.
I arranged to pass on the confirmation email in exchange for the face value of the ticket.

This has cost me a 10 match home ban and my Albion account has been suspended. So anyone thinking of doing the same please be warned!!

Three things:

1. I’m sorry you’ve picked up a ban, but…
2. The club have been talking about (and doing) this for months. It should not be a surprise to anyone who reads anything the club produces or who reads NSC regularly, but mostly…
3. How TF did the club find out? Did you tell them?

I'm sure I read on here that exchanging tickets at face value is allowed under Wembley's terms and conditions?
There is a direct contradiction between the club T&Cs and Wembley T&Cs - the latter allows it (@Bozza has posted the relevant link already but it’s very easy to find).

The transfer hasn’t breached Wembley T&C but has breached club policy. Bit harsh to enforce/sanction when there are I guess thousands of guest tickets circulating amongst basically any Tom, Dick and Harry.

4. Doesn't it clearly state on the Wembley ticket ts&cs that they CAN be transferred? As @Bozza posted recently?

Re 3, if the ticket had already been uploaded to a wallet and then reset, presumably they would instant see if it was uploaded to a different wallet ?

There’s a direct contradiction in various Wembley-produced stuff I’ve seen too!

For example:

“All tickets are strictly non-transferable and are not available to distribute to other supporters.”

Blimey, you read NSC and you have never come across debate about passing on tickets !!!!!!! Do you usually only read the music and cycling threads ?

Whilst I'm sorry to hear the OP has now got a 10 match ban I'm wondering if they've been under a rock for the past year? All the stuff with collecting tickets at away matches, names written on tickets, posts here about people getting bans for doing exactly that. It's not exactly new is it?

I never uploaded the ticket to my google wallet.
I am not sure how they found out unless the when it was uploaded the wallet of the guy who brought it.

Oh no :(

I only investigated the Wembley Ts & Cs out of curiosity after several others mentioned that Wembley allowed face value (or below) exchange.

However, this is what is detailed on the sales page...

Other important information

Ticket Terms & Conditions: Tickets are sold as instructed by the Football League and as per terms and conditions of sale which can be viewed on https://www.wembleystadium.com/Public/Conditions-of-Issue, and their ground regulations on https://www.wembleystadium.com/plan-your-visit/stadium-guide/rules-and-regulations

The only reference there are Wembley's Ts&Cs - there's no mention nor link to Albion-specific terms.

He who acts in haste repents at leisure!!
I take it on the chin but there should be a club transfer policy so they can oversee the transaction.
The whole point of this thread is to warn other suckers and under rock dwellers

I don’t know how the IT works but maybe they simply see what wallet the (named) ticket is uploaded to………would be very simple from there to have an exception report that highlights any name differences.

Sorry to hear you’ve been pinged - given Wembley appear to be ok with face-value transfers and we have thousands of unnamed guests with tickets in our end seems very harsh.

For example:

Firstly, I'm surprised by Wembley T&Cs, given football ticket 'touting' - including giving tickets away for free, without specific permission - is prohibited in English law.

There are clauses in the Wembley T&Cs about being 'eligible' for the passed-on ticket.

But surely Albion wiped out most criteria when it allowed season ticket holders to buy for others?!

The only 'condition' to have a ticket for Wembley is that you know an Albion season ticket holder.

T
he season ticket holder buys it, has pass it on (!), and they're then responsible for the recipient's behaviour.

All this is quite different to an away game, with conditions tied to loyalty points etc.
