I'm pretty sure I won't be supporting one of the Axis of Evil against my own country just because they're lead by our second worst buy of the Premier League era.

Although, if he's up against Luke Shaw, literally anything could happen.
I did not say I am supporting Iran, just that it would piss me off less than Silky Dave's goal against us

Ecuador, Argentina, Japan and Belgium will get my interest though. Of course I will watch the England games and do my best to keep off the match day thread if and when things go pearshaped.

Today, there were 81mins on the clock and Feyenoord were 0-2 down to PSV.

Step-up Alireza to score a double and rescue a point. Great to see him doing well in a league that suits him.
Always though he had so much more than most eyes could see. With the right coach, maybe he could have shone.

And.......he has lovely hair. I'm sure @Stat Brother would agree

Well yes, there are some idiots around.

Some of them even thought Jahanbakhsh was potentially a PL footballer....................
There are plenty of PL players who don't deliver PL performances week in , week out. He showed glimpses of talent but never given a good enough run out, when he scored the goals against Stoke( ?) then Chelsea I thought he should have been more chances but was dropped when we were finding it impossible to score. Who knows how he would have turned out under RDZ.

Just about OK for the Eredivise probably.

I'm not so sure. Someone told me Solly March was League 1 at best - and he seems to be doing OK...
Wasn’t even starting for Iran in the World Cup and not really setting the Dutch league on fire. Just not quick or strong enough for the PL. Needed way too much time.

Many players we have had can look back and think they were not given a chance. This was for simple reason every season including last for at least 2/3 rds of seasons we were trying to stay clear of relegation.
The plus of doing well at this stage is Zerbi if he wants to look ahead can give one of youngsters or a player on fringe a run of games

On the ball with space and time he’s a really good player.

Sadly you don’t get much of that in the premier league, it’s almost a different game.

Good guy though, hope he keeps scoring for them.

Europa quarter final, 2nd leg for Alireza on Thursday, well set up for him and his team to make the semis. Perhaps against Manure or USG.
