One of my top 3 all time Amex highlights was watching his reaction after scoring that worldy overhead kick,it was like watching someone not quite believing that they'd actually done it.

'Accuses' is a bit strong. He was asked about it and replied diplomatically.

Ask the American Captain if the news Trump will stand again has affected the US team he's likely to suggest the English media may be trying to put us off our game with such questions.

Oh, and Ali J is captain. When was the last time an ex Brighton player captained a team in a world cup?

Let's just hope he doesn't have a 'Silky' David Cameron moment against us

Nothing will ever come close to that. Silky Dave was wank, failed to score a single goal for us (although had one half decent game in a 2-2 home draw with Lincoln) and then stropped off, funnily enough to Lincoln. I bet if you ask a Lincoln fan, they'd say the only game he any good for them was that 0-2 up there when he scored in our promotion season.

It was f***ing annoying though, watching him sprint around like he’d scored a World Cup winner

Can you imagine Ali J scoring the winner against England. It won’t piss me off as much as that Silky Dave goal though. I liked Ali J when he played for us

The only goal he scored in England, so I have been told, was the one I saw him score against us away at Lincoln. If ever a man looked more baffled after hitting the back of the net it was him, that evening. That may have been the game I had @hart's shirt in the back of my car on the way home. Or it may have been the one where I spent most of the day in the pub with @papajaff while @Dick Knights Mumm earned a crust. That was when PotG was king. My, how things have changed

Did he? That must have been after the realization had dawned on him. I'll see if there are any stills ???

Brighton lost their first 2000-01 away game at Southend by a 0-2 margin, and manager Micky Adams saw his charges sink to the same scoreline as Lincoln bounced back from a 1-6 midweek Worthington Cup drubbing at Sheffield United. Albion were only left with themselves to blame though as they won the 'attempts on goal' contest by a 16-8 tally. The Imps' hero was keeper Alan Marriott who produced a string of impressive saves. Having repelled the growing pressure, Lincoln went up the other end and did what they do best. From one of their five corners (Brighton had 16), Paul Mayo's deep kick from the right caused havoc in the Seagulls' area for Steve Holmes to stoop and head home. To add insult to the visitors' injustice, Dave Cameron ignored the Albion offside appeals to put City two to the good minutes later. The Scottish striker's short stay with Brighton ended in February following public criticism from the Withdean management.

I take it you weren’t at Lincoln that day?

edit, just seen you were. One of us has a shit memory:lolol:

It could be me I accept, it was a long time ago

From the Argus

The former soldier wheeled away in delight to celebrate his first goal for his new club in front of the home fans.

He then looked over from the far side of the pitch towards the Albion dugout in euphoric fashion.

I may have had my head in my hands throughout that part. It was his split-second reaction that struck me as incredulity. But beer had been taken and it was 22 years ago....could have simply been my own incredulity.

I sincerely hope he does . . . And leaves a scratchy goat pube Slabheaded twat on his arse.

It didn't work out for him here and he may not have been quite good enough in some respects, but he left with far more dignity and respect than many others.
and he scored a worldie against Chelsea.

I was one of those that saw and delighted in his clever passing and movement.....maybe he never quite followed instructions and was therefore hard to coach...and so, ta ra.

My horror at him defenestrating England was tongue in cheek. I would find it highly amusing if he was the architect of the England's downfall. It won't be, though. With the rest of the team worse than him (here, let me lend you a pocket calculator that can do mathematicals) you can work out the rest...

I'm pretty sure I won't be supporting one of the Axis of Evil against my own country just because they're lead by our second worst buy of the Premier League era.

Although, if he's up against Luke Shaw, literally anything could happen.
