incidentally, 5Live just offered the worst radio commentary I think I’ve ever heard. The commentator completely forgot to mention that the ball had actually gone in the net. Just a huge pause, during which time all you could hear was the hush of the crowd, which told you nothing… and then “the flag stays down”, which was the crucial clue the listener required to decipher that a goal had just been scored.
Absolute turnip.
Pains me to say it but it looks like a masterstroke in getting rid of Patrick Vieira and bringing Roy Hodgson back.

I was thinking that losing 1 - 5 would knock the stuffing out of them but West Ham came back so could be wrong.
To stop Liverpool and other suitors taking him this or next summer cheaply.
