Anyone received their marathon event pack yet? We had some post arrive nearly two weeks after it was posted so if they've used the Royal Mail I think there may be some issues.

Today is the deadline to report a missing pack to them.

As usual Brighton Marathon is pretty desperate for volunteers (they haven't done themselves any favours with lack of advertising in my view) but if you or anyone you know wants to help- and its a lot of fun - then here's the link https://londonmarathonevents.rosterfy.eu/login.

I'm managing water station #6 16.7 miles at Bedford Square and would welcome any help! Thanks!!
I'm happy for you to be my gaffer for the day. What time shall I turn up?

Tendon calmed down Saturday after 4 weeks playing up. As in Wimbledon I wombled up to the Common for Parkrun. I had no kit so wore waterproofs and street shoes. Course was narrow wet, slippy and boggy and single file in many places. Started at the back for first mile but then overtook 150 runners by running through the middle of the muddy puddles. 29:42 shows the conditions.

Woke up painless so enjoyed 4 miles upping the pace on the Prom. In doing so I overtook my mileage for 2022 a paltry 155 miles.

That’s great thanks - please sign up using the link. It’s 8:30 start.

I know some people who have received theirs last week but at least one other who has not yet. I met with someone from the organisers today - his advice was to contact them if you have not received it by the end of today.

Thanks for this. My brother in law received his middle of last week.

Marathon contractors doing great work. Pebbles left by council for 6 months almost gone in an hour. Marquees still standing. I've crossed the completed finish line. The high tide did not spill onto the Prom.
It will all be ready to go. Exciting and I'm not even doing it.

Best of luck to everyone involved (in any capacity) with the Brighton marathon.

A humble Worthing parkrun today but with a PB of 20.12 and an AG @85.40%.
Amazing time and AG. Shame you missed Chester you'd have done well.

I had to cancel the Prom today as woke with a slight lower back spasm after putting in 70 seed potatoes at the allotment. Got the Sussex Road Relays next Saturday. I'll be off the pace but should manage 7" miles. For the 2 mile leg.

Good luck BMers. I made a rare visit to Hove Park and ran my first parkrun as a 45-year-old. Got myself a place for Three Forts at the end of the month too - looking forward to it 👍🏼

Brighton Marathon today.

3:29:53 on my watch - my first road marathon so I’ll definitely take that!

Was freezing in PP before the start, but ended up being a beautiful sunny day.

Incredible support - Thank you so much if you were cheering runners on today and of course huge kudos to the volunteers.

Hope you all ran well and injury free.

Good luck to all runners tomorrow.
Look out for me, @knocky1 and @Ninja Elephant at the 16.7 mile water station by the band stand and we’ll give you an extra cheer!

@Greg Bobkin - see you at Three Forts!
Aha! Was that you guys that gave me an extra loud burst of “Seeeeeeagulls” as I passed by in my black away shirt?

Absolutely loved yesterday. Great new route. Gorgeous weather. Fantastic support and super friendly volunteers taking great care of us all.

Came home in 4:31:50. Nothing to write home about among much of the company on this thread but it shaved 8:56 off my PB which, having turned 50 now, makes my socks roll up and down.

Signed up for 2024. Of course.
