Just driven through the place on Google. I can't remember ever doing so in real life, though I've always lived in East Sussex.

Looks quite pleasant. But then a lot of villages and small towns in that part of the world do too.
You'd have got through Wadhurst a lot quicker on Google than in real life.

Sussex, by the sea
I’ve never been to Wadhurst but living in Chichester and seeing this comment when they mention it was deemed worthy of inclusion by the judges ensures they have no credibility with me whatsoever………”was praised for its good schools and transport links” I’ve no idea on the schools but good transport links 😂😂😂
It was praised for it's never ending stream of clogged roundabouts is what I think they meant.

At least you can park easily in Wadhurst, it is clean, litter free, tidy, no tagging & without graffiti. Their council hasn’t wasted funds on cycle lanes not going anywhere just, like Brighton & Hove used to be ….
Bloody long walk to the beach though.

Which ones? I love Burwash, nice pub next to the playing field

Rose and Crown.

My late father was one of a group to raise money to buy it for the village. My childhood was spent kicking a football around in a bukta Albion shirt whilst he mowed the cricket field. That field is his legacy and one that I am immensely proud of.

Roger Daltrey (The Who) and Robert Smith (The Cure) are famously resident on the outskirts.

There was also this gentleman, Bob Todd of Benny Hill fame. a true village eccentric. Many memories from my childhood as my dad befriended him.

I moved to Wadhurst approximately 10 years ago.
It has no banks, a doctors surgery but no doctors, 4 estate agents, 6 coffee shops, 4 barber shops, 1 nail bar, 2 pubs and a co-op.
Oh, and a kebab shop that shuts at 9:30 every evening.

And some other stuff.
No decent restaurants? How can that be considered desirable..

My mum also befriended Bob Todd as he used to drink in The Maiden’s Head in Uckfield where she worked. I remember as a small kid they chatted on the high street, and he said ‘Look after your mum’ to me!
