I saw this posted on twitter but not sure I believe it's true.
Apparently we have lost the fewest players to injuries this season

But Moder on his own has missed over half that number (or is he not being counted?)

On the other hand, apart from the usual suspects (Lallana, Welbeck, Webster) and Colwill, I can't remember too many players missing games through injury.

Yes, forgot about him (How could I forget him?) What a shame he never got a chance at DeZerbiBall.
I assume he actually own missed a couple of games before his retirement was announced, as he was on international duty.

Age will come into it as well. Liverpool squad average age is about 120

It's very tricky to calculate these things in a meaningful way, what about fringe players who wouldn't have played anyway?

Colwill, Webby, Welbeck, Lallana, Lamptey have all missed decent time. Ferguson got assaulted. Then of course Moder.

So you could look at relative lack of injuries as luck? But then you could look at it as built in to the model. We predominantly have younger players, less likely to break down. More importantly, we've got a disciplined and scientific approach to managing players minutes, for example Lamptey's return to fitness last year.

Might this only include those named in PL squads? This would then exclude e.g. Moder.
Well you wouldn't name a player who has a long term injury in the squad so it wouldn't count. Not saying you're wrong, probably you're right. It's just a backwards way of doing it.

But I am fairly sure Moder has been named in the 25 man Brighton squad on the assumption he will be back by the end of the season. Otherwise we couldn't play him

And I guess on that basis it would exclude Under 21 players in the squad.
And we have a lot of them.

Yes I believe our listed squad is 17 including Moder but excluding all of the Under 21s (Colwill and most of the bench)

Maybe in the squad after the Jan window closed, but would be surprised if he made the earlier one. Then again, we don't normally name 25 players, due to the number of youngsters we have that don't need to.

I am not sure. I suspect @chaileyjem who has done threads on these sorts of matters would know.

Moder is on the list. Brighton have only registered 17 out of 25 possible players and Moder is one of them.

Yes I said that earlier. The question asked was that also the case at the start of the season after the first transfer window (when we still has Trossard and Mwepu as well)

Why are Manchester City shown in a different colour?

He was indeed.
Thanks for confirming. Therefore I can't believe the original tweet that says we have only lost 46 combined players to injury this season can't be right. Moder alone has missed 25 games. That's 21 in total between the other 19 or 20 players including Maupay, Trossard, Alzate and Mwepu who have been part of the squad this season, excluding U21s. Don't forget Trossard missed two games to "injury" before the January window!

Yeah, that's BS. Moder, Mwepu, Lampty, Welbeck, Webster, Lallana - more than twice as many as they've said.
