I personally don’t like the chap given how he left us, who he left us for and the mass exodus he caused. I’ve enjoyed watching Chelsea plummet and Potter not do so well but I’m a bitter, twisted individual with a short memory. Boo him by all means. We all know how much he enjoys that. But death threats and abuse to his family is too far and has no place at all.
Think 80% would fit into this category - 100% the last bit obvs…

I agree - wouldn’t say I don’t like him as such - in football terms I don’t I guess. Seems a decent well rounded bloke but it’s all panto innit.

Nobody deserves that, but what did he expect? Bringing up Tuchel’s pre-season is weak. He’s doing himself no favours with these press conferences.
"Sub optimal pre season" ! How sub optimal was it for us to have you jump ship and then come back for key members of the coaching and recruitment staff? But for our superb succession planning we could have gone into free fall.

Now, one of the reason these arseholes have threatened his kids is the ‘hilarious’ tweets that dozens have sent with a pic of him on our pitch with his wife and kids. They would have almost definitely known about his family etc from these ‘joke’ tweets as it made it easily accessible in the public domain. People do not think before putting these sorts of over the mark tweets out there. It appeared on here the other day and there’s dozens - something about how will he feed his family - don’t even get it myself.

I’m also 99% convinced Potter regrets leaving us for Chelsea now. Won’t ever admit it, but just shows chasing the big bucks and highest elite level isn’t for everyone. Cucurella and maybe Biss will probably think the same deep down.

What did he expect? If you go to a job where you are paid £1m a month the expectations are going to be massively high. ( death threats aside , as that’s obviously way out of order).
He’s now trying to deflect the criticism by way of saying that the stress isn’t good for him or his family, and blaming the previous manger ( a serial winner) for a poor preseason.
He’s clearly not up to the job. Hope he stays and we finish above Chelsea.
He’s certainly self indulgent in terms of the ‘poor me’ hyperbole.

Feel sorry for him, doesn't deserve that. Chelsea have a worldwide fan base and their permanently online section as with any big club seem to be the most rabid. Aiming threats at kids is no good

Quite glad we don't have an army of foreign plastics doing our bidding on twitter to be honest.
The whole long distance social media fan thing is really starting to irritate me. How do I persuade social media algorithms that yes I like football but I do not want to me associated with these morons.

I will file under 'more shit about modern football that irritates the crap out of me'. Any kind of superleague would take these knobheads out of my experience . . . Bring it on.

We are bloody lucky to have NSC. Bozza and the Moderators (brilliant band name) do a great job and I thank them. I also thank the rest of you for not being massive bellends like those twats.

It’s been a horrible experience for him but it was always going to be and whilst this move was great for his bank balance it’s been terrible for his career. It’s his Moyes to Man United moment and was never going to succeed in a club with that culture and toxic entitled fans

Those factors are all true, but you can't state "he was never going to succeed" or blame results on the fans.

With the talent at his disposal he should be doing a lot better, he and his selections/tactics/motivation have been not good enough.

Other managers would have got more from those players. Potter is out of his depth and it shows.

I have very little time for GP and do think he needs to grow some balls! When he was here he started crying over a bit of booing because we hadn’t scored for ages and forgot what a win was! What did he expect when he took his £60m contract.

that being said death threats and threats to his family are completely out of order and typical of the Chelsea Abramovitch plastic!

The reason I said he was never going to succeed is we know from his career it takes time to get his ideas and methods across and time was never something you get at clubs like Chelsea.

The problem with these press conferences though is that the media will prod and poke to get the comments and headlines they desire!

Death threats against his family. I don’t care what he’s done or what’s he has said he doesn’t deserve that. He’s a good guy, despite what some of our fans think, and that level of abuse is totally out of order .
I agree ... everyone bangs on about mental health on NSC ... but 'oh it's Potter and he deserves everything he'd gettin'g ... and 'what did he expect' ... seems to be the mantra on here from many!

True, but when a club representative who is so highly thought of that he is lured from a club that he was having great success at, and promised £60 million pounds, takes a conference, one would assume that he may possess the emotional intelligence to deal with it in a non controversial manner.

Rubbish. I challenge you to find a post that is happy that his mental health is suffering or that anyone is okay with his family being threatened. People here are happy that his football career seems to be imploding. It is very amusing and satisfying.

Great summing up and conclusion by the Arsgus.

Tickets for Albion's trip to Chelsea, as well as games at Tottenham and Bournemouth, go on sale next week.
I'm not understanding why it's now ok for supporters to be angry. Is this a development in his emotional intelligence? Is he beginning to develop some? Has he been learning? Sounds like it has been a great move.

Death threats against anyone simply doing their job is disgraceful
It becomes more understanding depending on the job, the impact of the job, how badly the job is done, and whether is was done badly nefariously. Boris Johnson and his fraudulent friends killed many and stole from the nation to line their bulging pockets It is understandable in those circumstances for some to descend to the level of death threats.

But due to your football team losing? Wow
