It's so difficult to know what the final outcome of the game would have been if it had been allowed - so it's virtually impossible to say for definite that it cost us the win. We may not have scored a second, and still let in a howler. Who knows.

Murphy summed up well, it's inefficient, and tedious we're talking about VAR.

doesnt that demonstrate its flawed and failed its main purpose?

I cannot believe they pay someone money to put that line on the last defender, and they put it on the wrong person.

AFAIK that's the first time it's ever happened - and it happens to stop us scoring against Palace - what a f***ing surprise.

If football belongs to the fans it's surely time that fans of football came together and collectively and put VAR where it belongs,in the f***ing bin.

I'm not even surprised at the constant f*** ups anymore, take away today's non VAR performance for us, it's simply having a detrimental effect on football itself.

I'm still dumbfounded about the tackle on Ferguson 2 weeks ago how that was not punished correctly so god knows how long this balls up will take to leave my fuming brain.

Just get rid of it FFS enough is enough.

I don't understand why it's not a referral system. Two for each team, per game.

VAR would hardly be used/mentioned, but would be there to stop real howlers. That's all that's needed.

(Obv keep goal-line tech too)

My opinion is VAR should only intervene for offside if the player is deemed over a certain measurement offside, 300mm for example. This stupid couple of mm shit is mad, bad for the game and clearly relies on the human clicking the exact part if the body and freezing exactly as the ball is kicked. With some of the stupidly tight calls that happen every week I can't see how the accuracy can be confirms.

I agree that VAR needs to go but where would all these fans meet-up/protest to show their dislike of VAR in this modern world? Snap chat? NSC? Facebook?

No chance us fans/customers will have any say on VAR. We’re just a bunch of mindless, herd following, easy to scam football in the eyes of the current people running/profiting from football.

Fan power these days has turned into a delusion that keeps some fans warped into the pantomime aspect of football rivalry and shouting “I would die for my club”. We’ve probably now got more chance of getting the government to listen to us than the hierarchy of football, and that’s saying something!

That doesn't really make sense - all that would happen is that there'd be arguments about 300mm+/-2mm.

Can’t they just put some sort of tag on all the players which can trigger a signal that an attacker is behind all the defenders? No need for rules such as arms, legs and earlobes being offside or not. We just accept the tag makes the call
It’s a good shout this. The problem with it though is that it means that the premier league would have to use a different offside rule to the rest of the football pyramid and really that makes it a non-starter.

Even though the premier league is already different in having var, it is still enforcing the same rules as apply to all others.

I was against var before it was introduced and still am. Get rid - it has added nothing and ruined the game in the process.

Well, it finally puts the bed the favouring of 'big' teams. Both Arsenal and Chelsea were on the receiving end today. Ours was just a monumental cock up.

The VAR ref that day was Neil Swarbrick. As mentioned on MOTD, he is the head VAR ref - and was responsible for not giving Chelsea the penalty today.
