Really looking forward to this game I voted a draw on the predictions thread but my view is changing to a win for the Brighton.
My reasoning is with Zaha Out no one in their team appears to show any passion for this particular game it’s only the fans who know just how importance of this game is to both sets of fans, Meanwhile for Brighton we have several players who know and understand Dunk, March, Sanchez who can explain the rivalry and lead on the pitch so buoyed with newfound confidence I predict a 0-3 win UTA

We have the better team. We have the better players. We have the better manager. We have the better form. So logically, everything points towards a likely win. However, we've been here so often before and still come unstuck, because they routinely get outrageous luck against us, and they are snides.

The 1-2 defeat at the Amex, I have never seen a team (in any game, at any level, either live or on TV) get so totally schooled, so dominated, so comprehensively outplayed, so absolutely battered for 90 minutes and yet come away with a win. It was comical, without being very funny (not to us anyway).

Then there was the 1-1 up there when Batshuayi (6'1) dramaticall collapsed backwards in an aerial challenge at the far post with Lampty (5'4). The ref somehow bought it, Zaha put it away - their ONLY attempt on target in the entire game - and we had to wait for Alli Mac rescue a point in the 90th, in another game where once again we'd battered them.

So on the face of it I'd take the point, as a point on the road in the EPL is never really a bad result. But I find myself persuaded by the "f*** it" posts on here, and risk it for the 3 points. We're good enough. If they win, then they've won their little "cup final" again, and can come on here and wank themselves to a bloodied stump, as they would. But we've got far bigger fish to fry this season than a few bragging rights over an ailing club still playing in a crumbling slum in front of a bunch of dribbling slack-jawed ratboys. The trajectory of BHAFC and CPFC2010 are now at opposite ends of the spectrum. Thats all that matters really.
Tbf we did get a little lucky last season at selhurst.

We were really poor that game after being on an amazing run. Bissouma was out and that really cost us.

There seems to be some confusion or ambiguity about what taking a point means.

Some are taking it to mean we should set up for a draw, and balk at that idea.

Some, like myself, think of course we should try and win it as usual, but if we don’t a draw will be okay.

With that in mind and the dangerousness of this fixture, I would take a draw but hope for a win.

Surely the question being asked is if you were offered a draw right now would you take it?

Nobody thinks we’re being asked if we should play for a draw, surely?! wtf

As said to my Palace mates, all results are possible as it's a rivalry game and form goes out of the window, but overall we are a far superior team to them and have a bet that we will finish at least 20 points above them.
You did what? I hope you got good odds.

Which would be incorrect.

No, that's not how it works. It's a hypothetical question, and one that can't exist in reality. The idea is that you make a deal with god that we will draw the game and the point is ours, or you let fate take its course, meaning all 3 results are possible.

A few seasons ago, I would have (probably) voted 'yes', but no way on God's green Earth would I vote that way now. 3 points are what I'm wanting, each and every game, especially against that lot.

If we beat them, we're 13 clear with a game in hand and the best part of half a season still to play. Incredibly, it's really not that far fetched!
No it's not far fetched, but bets between mates are usually at evens, and I wouldn't want that at evens.

In terms of available talent and form, I cannot think of any time since I've been a BHA fan (around 35 years) when we've gone into a game against them with such a clear upper hand, so I'd definitely be dissapointed with a draw.

Probably get beaten by a late breakaway or soft pen now.

Sporting Index currently have the mid point of the spreads for total PL points as 62.25 for Brighton and 43.75 for Palace. On that basis the evens bet should be that Brighton finish 18.5 points ahed as opposed to the 19.5 points that he has effectively made with his mate. It slightly favours the Palace fan but doesn't seem unreasonable.

Blimey, can't believe we're expected to finish so far ahead of them. Thanks.

Veltman gets it too - as does Sanchez.
Pretty sure Sanchez will want to beat them after that incident when the scum were spitting on Dunk, Duffy and Sanchez as the went down the tunnel and Sanchez ended up doing the Y arms and squaring up to them. Would loved to have seen a Croydon div knocked out by him that day.

Needs to be mentioned that chickens are actually very brave animals who have been known to fight back Eagles whenever their chicks get put into danger by them.

How about we cut down on the stigmas aye? It’s not 1973 anymore. No one like Chickenism.
