@raymondo he has YouTube on his tv (on an account I check in on from time to time) to be fair to him he has always watched the Albion highlights on YouTube every Sunday morning. His last couple of shirts have been Lamptey 2 but right now he would have a different choice every ten minutes!!!
Pleased he didn’t have to go through’97 etc but sometimes I think he would have a better sense of perspective… I read someone on NSC say that telling their kids the Brighton history felt a bit like telling WW2 stories (relevance wise) I know that feeling
Yes, all of that...it's a tricky age. Defo my son thinks all my stories from more than 10 years ago are from WW2 😂

Not so much renewed interests from family and friends because that was already there.

However, whenever travelling in taxis/trains talking to people at work about football (or they start speaking to me because I’m wearing BHA scarf or sweatshirt) it’s always the same response now:

“Oh Brighton, they are doing really well now aren’t they?” “What your Manger’s name? De Zerbi? He’s doing much better than that Potter bloke you used to have that’s now at Chelsea isn’t he?!”

Best one, last week I got into a London Black Cab for a 40min journey from South London to Kings Cross. As soon as I got in, and was asked where I was from - when I said ‘Brighton’ there was a heavy silence. The cab driver said “do you support Brighton then?” I said “of course, you? “
He said “nah, Palace STH me - and I was half thinking to not take you after you said ‘Brighton’’. We had a laugh at our mutual rivalry, enjoyed the Truce and both then spent the next 40 mins singing De Zerbi’s praises, lauding Brighton’s star players and how TB’s brilliant recruitment strategy has turned the club into a major PL competitor that the Palace Cab driver was, by his own admission, quite jealous of.

Never met such a complimentary Palace supporter - De Zerbi is wobbling the thickest of heads, I’m telling ya! 🇮🇹
Christ I could never praise Palace ever. I couldn’t care less if we were in league one and they were top of the PL playing like Barca.

I wasn’t praising Palace or the taxi driver, he was praising us which is a testimony to RDZ and what’s happening at Brighton (which was the point of my post) - he also said ‘as Brighton fans go’, I was’OK’ but I knew that anyway 🙂

See the positives …

I was thinking if the roles were reversed ie if I was the taxi driver as an Albion fan and a Palace gimp hailed my cab 😄

Well you’re not blameless as a parent here….
I am bringing up children in North London, the heart of Arsenal and Spurs territory. I always thought I would have to let them choose to support a "bigger club", but having started to take my son and daughter to games when we were in the Championship, there has never been a moment where they have considered they were going to support any other team.

Just listened to him and certainly more interesting than Potter who over and over again said This is the PL.

Almost since the day RDZ and his team arrived, he has rekindled Mrs Earle's love of the Albion. Last season, she had really lost her Albion mojo and was cross with me for renewing her season ticket without checking with her. She found it a struggle to get motivated to come with me to home matches as we have done for decades. Then RDZ arrived with his sparkling personality and his support team and turned Potter's dour marvels in to a thrilling, attractive to watch, free scoring goal machine. Now Mrs Earle can't wait for every match and devours everything she can find about the Albion online, Twitter, news outlets and everywhere she can find it. Anyone else experiencing this exciting uplift in interest for themselves or their family and friends?
Yes, but can he do it on a rainy Tuesday night in Stoke?

It's the home wins or great hope of home wins, that's done it for me.

Before RDZ, punch drunk after 3 or 4 seasons of a dearth of home wins, attending was a damp squib to shite. We don't do away games. @GB I think used to say the same.

Now, walking to the park'n'ride, we chat about the likely winning score. Last Sunday I said 2-1!

Reminiscent of magical times under Mullery, Poyet (Withdean period) and Hughton (2.5 Championship seasons).

Absorb this, it's magic.

Indeed, could never understand the fuss over Potter and his boring non scoring football. Before someone mentions Man Utd and Leicester that was two games in three seasons we managed to score over two goals. Mitoma would have been wasted on him probably would be a struggling LWB behind Pervis and March.
I am caught between two different sides to the story. I am sympathetic to the one you describe, and as you say we endured some intolerably boring, lacklustre and unproductive games for long stretches under Potter. In those times I wished for relegation as the championship at least allowed us to be competitive and the money seemed better spent as the entertainment value was superior, scoring goals and actually winning a few games here and there.

The other side was that after a few months of him taking over, when we did put things together, we were playing the best football I had ever seen us play. I remember remarking around 1 or 2 years ago that we were on the brink of something really special.

Of course, part of the anger and frustration with Potter stems from the fact that we shall never know if the 'something really special' was about to be achieved this season with him, as he deserted just as we were riding the crest of the wave. De Zerbi has harnessed the good work and conjured something even better. Can a mojo be at 11?

Just gotta luv the guy. When talking about Caicedo and supporters none of this "the supporters have their views but I don't agree with them lark" , he's saying like " I'm happy he's staying and put your trust in me and the team"............he's 100% behind Moises and wants us to be too, and, knows we will be!

If only Swansman was still here .....

Don't worry his super swanny sense is tingling, somewhere in Sweden he is sifting through data to prove that we don't actually prefer De Zerbi muttering 'they might not love you anymore but I do'
