"Safe standing" is not terracing, so I honestly don't see the point. If you could buy a ticket to the North, rock up, and stand where you want then THATS the gamechanger. But this is just a massively sanitised, watered-down version. I'm never moving from the WSU though so I have no skin in the game, hence I won't bother completing the survey. It died on its arse last time as nobody was bothered, and I think the same will happen again.

SAFE STANDING SURVEY
Following discussions with the Fan Advisory Board, we are open to considering safe standing in The Amex and would love to hear to hear your opinions!

Although I will not be able to stand, I would love for part/all of the North stand to be able to if it can improve the atmosphere in the ground.

I sit in the WSU so unlikely to directly effect me but whilst I don't have anything against safe standing I think the stadium was designed as an all seater and if safe standing was brought in some season ticket holders would have to be moved.

For all those saying the club are being disingenuous saying it would delay other stadium improvements, it is up to the club how they spend their money.
It is, but they are asking…..and not saying what won’t get done if the cash is spent on safe standing instead. Why not, for example, a question aimed at preference ?

-safe standing for xxxx fans in the following blocks or
-toilets, additional food and drink concessions and big screens outside the ground

I did at the weekend. Surprised how crowded the concourse was compared to WSL, and took ages to exit after the game. Nice change of view for a change but not for me Clive.
I love my elevated view from the WSU, its so easy to see the tactics and patterns of play. Been in the WSL on a few occasions, and whilst its good to be up close to the action, I just couldn't get on with the view. Found it tough to properly decipher the "geometry" of the game from such a low viewpoint.

We're all different though

Yep, tactical view Is much, much better but it felt very detached. I’m also too fat for the closer seating :lolol:

Don't stand in the NW corner for the whole game. Don't mind others standing.

It's a fair question to ask.

My main concern is point 5; requiring some fans to move from their existing seat. No. Just no. We are way better than them up the road. Longstanding STHs should not be forced to move.
I imagine people have replied to this already, but...
they don't have to move - they can stay, but that would be weird if they need to sit and can no longer see. There's no solution to that, except for not having safe standing.

One option would be to ask how many fans would like safe standing, and work out how many of the back rows of the north that would be (or possibly it would require the whole stand). If there were any seats at the front of the north that didn't then change to safe standing, people who wanted to move from their existing seat could move forward some rows. Obviously if they'd prefer to move to another stand, that would be an option.

But they could stand now all the time if they really wanted to ... surely? Or is there a steward preventing them from doing that at the moment?
Yes, stewards on the sides of the North stand will tell people to sit if they stand for too long, only the middle section are allowed to stand for the full game.

There have been the odd game where we have stood for most/all of the game, play-off semis, some Palace games, where stewards have given up, but they are rare.

For those saying im WSU it doesnt impact me, please respond anyway as the club shelved this last time and cited a poor response as the reason. Maybe if they just emailed NS season ticket holders they would get a better % of responses

I was in N1D (towards the back) on Sunday. Stood the entire match. No questions asked from the stewards and everybody around me standing too. Loved it.

Have answered the survey suggesting I'd be very happy to see safe standing at the rear of the North Stand and would actively seek to attend there if it were to be introduced. That said, I've replied more in hope than expectation and will happily accept the status quo if the majority want to leave things as they are. It's hardly a deal breaker for me.

I did at the weekend. Surprised how crowded the concourse was compared to WSL, and took ages to exit after the game. Seats noticeably closer together too - can see how they have been squeezed. Nice change of view for a change but not for me Clive.
Made the move downstairs this season and the £5 a game difference not to do the stairs is worth every penny!

Potentially looking to move to NW corner next season to be closer to north for atmosphere

Out of interest does the whole corner typically sit? Asking as have a kid in tow thanks

Surely this survey should be directed at North Stand Season Ticket holders only. I'm not sure my view as a unaffected STH in West Lower should be taken in to account. Just the actual stakeholders i.e. the club who pays for it and the users who are affected. If it delays improvements that I can benefit from, then I vote no. But then I don't want a Fans Avisory Board telling the club what they think I want either. Can we have a survey whether we want the FAB too please?

Why ask people to choose between safety and extra facilities? The two are completely different things.
