How desperate must Liverpool FC be to need the resort to Sunday league tactics.

How the once mighty have fallen.

The only thing more shocking than the fouls was how we were let down by the officials, every single one of them.

I can only assume Swarbrick said oh don't worry about sending Fabhinio off as there's only a few minutes to go and we don't want to upset Mr Klopp.

The whole thing was Mickey mouse including the try and get Mitomas goal offside by letting 2 finger Freddie draw the offside lines.
I was thinking that. This was Liverpool, the team of Shankly, Paisley, Dalglish, etc, reduced to kicking lumps out of their opponents because, being clearly second-best, that was the only way they were going to beat us. It was like watching a non-league team playing against a top premier league side. The officials smiled benignly at their 'robust' challenges because after all, it was their cup final.

Prob need to wait for any swelling to go down before they get him down the Montefoire for a scan

That's what it looked like to me. Achilles tear would ore likely lead to being stretchered off to protect it.
I wouldn't be worried about the achilles. I imagine the major scans will be on his knee.
The danger is a very bad knee injury from my view at least. ACL/MCL tear would be sickening.

You don't remember Graham Souness?

Tommy Smith, Graeme Souness, Steve McMahon did their fair bit of rough stuff. I have a mate whose career was ended at 17 by Tommy Smith after he nutmeged him twice, took him out next tackle ACL injury, never played football again. Souness would have made Leeds team of early 70s look like a bunch of wooses.

Would that be the same Steve McMahon that got clumped by Vinny Jones in the first minute of an FA cup final against Wimbledon and then went missing for the rest of the match?

If the reports are true that his injury is not as serious as feared, that is the best possible news we could have today, better than any signing. I was really fearful he would be out for a long time.
Me too....or even worse. That kind of vicious assault can end careers. Shameful that the bent officials didn't punish the challenge in accordance with the Laws of the Game.

Good luck to the lad. Hope we see him again very soon.

Don't have the Athletic but apparently not as bad injured as initial thought.

Same, he’s going to be absolutely key for the rest of the season. A few weeks recovery is not the end of the world; I was very concerned this was a really bad one

Not as bad could mean anything. It looked like season ending injury. He'll surely be out for a few weeks....
