“Now’s the time you need to pick him out – when they’re ready, they’re ready.”

Erm we’ve done that thanks Tim.

Tim Sherwood has urged Newcastle United to splash out for Evan Ferguson – comparing the Irish striker to their former legend and teammate Alan Shearer.

“Didn’t we just mention that Newcastle were looking for a striker?” the pundit told Australian sports channel Optus Sport, referring to their sale of Chris Wood to Nottingham Forest.

“That might be one there (Ferguson). Go in now.

“There’s no point in getting him after he’s scored 50 Premier League goals because he will be unaffordable.

“Now’s the time you need to pick him out – when they’re ready, they’re ready.”

He says that as if he's the only the thats spotten Evan is a decent striker, like Brighton are still unaware & might accidentally sell him cheaply.

We have a player like Caicedo who's proven he's a very good Prem player & according to the footballing world we're not allowed to put a high valuation on him. We have a young player like Evan who looks like he could one become a very good Prem player & according to the football world he'd be a cheap purchase for anyone interested. We cant win.

And yet still manage to 'win' on all of the deals done.

Fergie's at a point where the value to us (based on his potential) would be far higher than his current market value, there's no way a top team would take a punt on him at this stage.

It might be different at the end of the season if he's managed to bag 10+ goals, but right now it'd be too big a risk for Newcastle, so no chance on that one Tim.

This is getting incredibly shit having all our players linked with other teams .
I’m starting to look forward to our inevitable relegation back to the Championship where we get to see entraining talent stay for longer than one season.

Oh look at him. A proper talent scout able to spot a great player early in his career.

Pity the club that bought him 2 years ago and spent years developing that talent, introduced him to the PL and Cups slowly and allowed him to develop organically, weren't able to spot it too.

Newcastle should be able to just nip in there Tim and snap him up for £10m or so I think, don't you?

I'm sure Brighton will be desperate to sell and a push over mate

Right on both counts. We can win though by ignoring the ‘football world’ and continuing to do what they are supposed to be doing which is to get them young and cheap and give them the means to achieve success. Pundits (mouthpieces) are inadvertently confirming the failure of the big clubs to do their job which is the reason they need billionaire backers.

Is this why Ferguson liked Caicedo’s Instagram ? Is there any point to all this when dealing with players that don’t respect contracts ? Getting pissed off with these parasites now and also pissed off with the hero worship some have for footballers who quite frankly do not deserve it.

I'm not sure that's the reason why - liking your (team) mate's posts is just something most people do without thinking - but I doubt there's a single player in our squad who wouldn't want a move to a "big club" if the opportunity comes along.

in a way sort of drags you down to wondering if it’s all worth it doesn’t it. Years of work by TB and his team, finding potentially great players others have either missed or too lazy to discover, then just as all the pieces seem to be dropping into place and the club is on the verge of attaining heights never truthfully thought possible along come the wanker agents and clubs teaming with wealth and rip it all up.

Yes, but there is a way to achieve one’s ambitions whilst showing respect for those currently supporting your career. As a side issue do people really ‘like’ posts without thinking ? That strikes me as a bit thick.

If TB refuses to sell any more of our players in this window then that’ll do me. A strongly worded club statement about the right and wrong manner in which to conduct these negotiations would also help. Perhaps some social media training for the players wouldn’t go amiss either.
