Could be pretty competitive. SA need to win this series to stand any chance of qualifying for the upcoming World Cup (the alternative is a pre tournament qualifying tournament)

I thought there was a bit of verbals then, but I think Curran said 'well batted' and Van De Dussen said 'well bowled' - that's all a bit nice isn't it...

Good hundred from Roy after a long lean patch, holding the innings together rather

I must admit I raised an eyebrow when I saw him in the team. He has been pretty garbage for quite a while, which makes this knock all the better.

Malan might argue that it hasn't all been Roy's work so far - he got the 3rd highest score of the match (so far) :)

This is the downside of smash and crash cricket. We’ve forgotten how to chase a modest score by batting sensibly

Poor show
Per above, bish, bash, bosh can sometimes override sensible situation batting.
No demons in that wicket
Though Butler looked very out of sorts?

Averaging 15 in ODIs if you exclude the Netherlands games last summer since the 2019 World Cup
