You only need to read the first and last sentences on that statement to see what this is all about. We also know Trossard has these winter spells and slumps where his performances drop, maybe the training incident he used to get away with under previous management but is not being tolerated by RDZ who we know has upped the intensity of training.

As to the dirty linen points one thing RDZ has been since he joined is clear and direct with the club, media, fans and players and this is really refreshing as a fan and nobody is under any illusions about what he needs from them. He was clear and described what happened and I have no reason not to believe him and his view the players behaviour is not acceptable.

As for Trossard after all this sulking and unprofessional behaviour he may get his move but I think he is going to be in for a shock as to the calibre of club In for him and will probably end up at villa or West Ham.
This. In addition to the dirty linen points, these lads are paid an ludicrous amount of money. Imo RDZ has every right to talk about it to the media in the way he has done if one of his players isn't putting in the graft at training (within reason - unless there's personal issues or whatever). Sod trossard if he's angry about that - he earns way too much

Other teams around us playing mind games to unsettle good opposition players.
Players living in a bubble and being fed duff info from agents, who only want to line their own pockets.
Coaches offering an olive branch to look like they are doing the right thing in the media, after making scathing comments in public.
Not about just playing football anymore.

What I find really odd is that Mac Allister was a World Cup winner yet comes back early and says how happy he is here. Yes, he may well be gone in the summer but he has shown respect and been totally professional whilst thanking the club for helping him achieve his dream. Then we have Trossard who played in an underachieving Belgian team who seemed very reluctant to give him the ball when he played, coming back and taking the piss in training sessions and then throwing a strop when pulled up for it.

It’s just bloody odd imo
The difference is about 6 years of age and realising your last chance at a big deal is probably in the next 3 weeks. It’s very easy to do what Mac has done in his situation - particularly having just signed a new contract - it’s not the same for Trossard.

If he doesn’t go this month now he’s unlikely to get much football with us before the end of the season which is going to hurt his value even more.

You really do take these 'stories' in gossip sites as gospel, don't you!

Read my posts a bit more carefully please - All I have ever said the past few weeks - in fact since post 50ish of this thread, is that multiple sources, inc. national mainstream media reported Atletico had expressed an interest back in October - which is public knowledge and was media bounced around a fair bit - and should be here too since I posted the links to those various sources to back this statement several weeks ago - and no not just ‘gossip’ sites but national newspapers too;

However, that’s not the point - you don’t have to believe a story to inform people that the stories actually exist - or are you reading my mind now as well as Tross’s ?
So in his mind he thought he was off headed for the bright lights .

😂

… all that's happened is some limp interest from abroad offering next to nothing from a fee perspective.

Sources please? 🙂

Just as ’likely’ Arsenal or Spurs have declared interests too but no one knows if it will lead to anything substantive and won’t until any deal is done.

there are two issues getting confused as one

firstly he is under contract to June 2024 - if we get an acceptable offer before then we will sell - if we don't we won't

in the meantime we pay him a lot of money and as RDZ pointed out on Friday we expect a bit of effort in return

if he actually does the later he will end up back in the team eventually and put himself back in the shop window so to speak

You could be right. As the transfer window moves on and potentially there arent many serious bidders he might have a rethink and realise what a good thing he's throwing away. Its all so easily fixed. But I fear more likely is his agent continues to feed the issue.
I think his Agent went to the same place as Cucurella's did to learn how to become a football agent.

It's called: Centre for Unending Negotiations Twattish School.

Known by it's acronym: C.U.N.T.S

As an aside, I’m rather bemused to see several people above have started including Atletico Madrid into their conversation now as a possible mix of potential clubs after I was derided yesterday by several posters for saying just that for days - including being called ‘his agent’ such is the fickleness of some NSCers - just saying 😉

Maybe in future try being more specific. You said 'Madrid' so like 99.99% of fans would, we assumed Real Madrid.

It would be like someone saying 'United' but talking about Newcastle.

Multiple outlets have 'reported' the interest but not multiple sources.

The Mirror 'reported' it in October, as a throwaway line in an article about Chelsea; https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/foot...ea-transfers-january-nkunku-trossard-28246688

What they report is also a bit fishy as they don't mention (don't know of) the +1 option we have and how there would be zero chance of us letting Trossard leave on a free: 'Meanwhile, Atletico have joined the hunt for Brighton ’s Trossard. The 27-year-old is out of contract in the summer and the Spaniards are among a number of clubs looking into taking him on a free transfer.'

Then, other outlets have 'reported' the Atleti interest, referencing The Mirror article as the source e.g https://www.mundodeportivo.com/futb.../meten-atletico-puja-sensaciones-premier.html + https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ard-wanted-free-transfer-Atletico-Madrid.html and https://www.tribalfootball.com/arti...in-brighton-attacker-leandro-trossard-4433114

Then, further outlets pick up the story and reference the other outlets (not The Mirror) as the source e.g https://www.football-espana.net/2022/12/05/atletico-madrid-brighton-star-leandro-trossard

So, one throwaway line (that looks like BS) from The Mirror, is what has caused all of these other 'reports'.

Per all above I have caveated with ....

'I just get the feeling'

And

'If my theory is right'

In the original post.

Lots of people talking about fecking him over and making him collect his money for training in the reserves. Isn’t it more likely he’ll feck the club over by sitting in the reserves for 18 months collecting his money then leave on a free? Instantly earn more than the difference he would have done by warming some ‘bigger’ clubs bench for 18 months as a signing fee the next day. Might be more interest in him in 18 months on a free than now at a Brighton/Tony price too.

I doubt he will want to play for the reserves for 18 months. 18 months is a very large proportion of a footballer's career. Even money cannot trump time.

I don’t think either of the options you are presenting will suit club or player. The club will find a solution by the end of the window imo. Other than Tross coming back cap in hand, which I fear is unlikely, there is no ideal option available I don’t think

Agree. I don’t read too much into “multiple outlets”.

These days I get bombarded with news and it’s almost always the case it’s the same story picked up and being recycled by other outlets.

Trossard seems too delicate a person to be able to deal with the demands of Simeone - he'd be mad/badly advised by his agent to go there.
