Keep hearing about the bloody bucket hats too. I'm convinced that some think that they were invented by the Welsh in 2022.

Still, hope they win today. Welsh fans never seem to want us to win and it must piss them off that the feelings of hostility aren’t reciprocated.

I must admit, I found myself Googling “wales bucket hats why” earlier. Something to do with the Manchester music scene, apparently.

No, me either.

Bucket hats look shit and ridiculous too. I think of people like Bez.

All baking in the sun today. Qatar have left sun hats on every seat for them. Nice touch, perhaps we should do the same for away fans at the Amex, or maybe not.

Did this exist before Wales got a bit less shit at football a few years ago?

Am I alone in never hearing about this until relatively recently?
Well I'd never heard of it in this context until 56 minutes ago

Good for them enjoying themselves at a World Cup. For many it will be their only chance to do so and if they want to wear those hats then let them. They'll be telling stories of the Qatar World Cup for the rest of their lives and there won't be much to write home about in terms of the football on the pitch so why not let them enjoy themselves however they want to in the stands?

Absolutely, yes. But that wasn't my point.

It was more that The Red Wall is spoken about in such reverential terms (see also: Palace ultras), yet before the last tournament or two, I've never heard a single mention of them. They were simply "Welsh football fans".

They are by me, a Welshman after a win against anyone in any sport is smugness personified in my experience, especially at rugby

Support them against England, Nadger. Always support the underdog, it’s in the blood, you’ll get no please from a predictable England victory, trust me implicitly on that. I know ‘Swanny’ will be on board with that. Come on Wales!

Dunno why the hate for the bucket hat (other than the obvious reason).
Fella finally comes round from going hard in the early 1990's, wants to relive that, gets the hats made and the fans love it.
Well played him.

As for the Red Wall in general, you England fans can only dream of such engagement.

The Welsh FA, players and fans in complete unison.
What have we got:-

Bert The Inert.
A talking waistcoat.
&
Harry the Wanker (take your pick - there are no wrong answers).

Being supported by a fanbase wearing culturally inappropriate clothing and pouring pints of Fosters over each other. #Twats.
