No way I would applaud him.
Ignore is my preference, with an over-the-top De Zerbi love in, instead.

Potter did a decent job and helped earn a lot of money for the club.
Left with the job half done and revoked his right to any appreciation from us at that point.

I would like to be able to acknowledge Bruno though.
A quick round of his chant during the warm-up, would be a classy touch.
Always a seagull Bruno can get booed with the rest of em. This game could be quite amusing if the full Pritchard treatment comes into play..

Hardly the same scale as the Chelsea rape and pillage.

Name me another PL club where they have taken 7 (counting PW) management room staff from another PL club in the history of the PL?

Utter scum.
It's not often reported it on detail. David Moyes left Everton with most of his coaching staff, as did Pochettino when he left Saints for Spurs. As for background staff, no idea. Good question though whether this is unprecedented or whether you just don't hear about it.

Feel very bitter towards Potter. Partly because I never liked him and think he gets far more credit than he deserves. "Having the Albion 4th in the table" is a particularly ridiculous badge of honour to award him. Almost everyone has cottoned on to how to play modern football - it is about having players capable of implementing it.

My wish is for Albion fans to respond to Chelsea by ramping up an extra effort to support our players and our manager. Hopefully the team produce another decent performance.

A chorus of Bruno's song would be classy. Still plenty of love for him.

I'd hope we can practically ignore it. Nothing but fuel to Chelsea and their fans with us showing how emotional and annoyed we are by it -they will lap it up.

Far better to crack on as if nothing has happened, completely ignore, concentrate on lauding RDZ and our own players.

Ambivalence is a far greater weapon than showing how hurt you are. Get behind and concentrate on the Albion, forget what is going on with the opposition and what they've done.

After 3 years of painstakingly hard work we were finally starting to establish ourselves in the top half of the premier league. A beacon of good practice in a league that values high wages, huge fees and marquee signings above all else. It was finally beginning to click, a stunning start to the season that saw us reach unimagined heights on merit. A settled squad playing hard for their manager, and then in a fit of pique Chelsea sack their manager, take a look down towards the coast, saw us and said we'll have what they've got. Just days after the Amex was left buzzing after the demolition of Leicester Potter and pals saw a pot of gold and couldn't get out of Lancing quick enough, leaving behind a club that had its heart ripped out. Damn straight I am booing Chelsea and everything that moves on saturday.

Should have happened just before rather than just after the Leicester game………pisspoor performance at Fulham fresh in our minds 🤷‍♂️

I owe @Cheeky Monkey an apology. He was suggesting that we would be stripped of players (not sure if he was expecting backroom staff too) when the Cucurella to City rumours started. I told him quite rudely to "get a grip" as I believed we would just lose Cucu and Biss. On the player front that is all we've lost...so far. Potter will be back for more in January and the summer, he has shown he is very comfortable with improving his position whilst dealing a hammer blow to the Albion.

He was 100% spot on so my humble apologies Cheeky

Will be interesting to see what happens on the day, 3,000 Chelsea fans will play their part in the atmosphere and they are not exactly going to be apologetic for their clubs actions are they

Why would Potter be back for Trossard. Is he planning to replace Raheem Sterling ? Chelsea have plenty of choices and ££ if Potter wants to strengthen their squad . Not sure why Brighton is the only place they'll want to or need to go shopping.

I wouldn’t boo. I can’t blame Potter or any of the “defectors” for wanting to test themselves at the highest level and better provide for their families.

That said, my Albion mojo is more or less on the floor right now. After the Leicester match I was excited about our prospects in a way I can’t ever remember feeling before. Now it’s been torn apart. There’s the sense of our season having been stolen.

I feel so sorry for Tony Bloom and all us supporters. He’s invested over a decade and an unfeasible amount of cash growing the club the right way. The very second we start to see tangible results (threatening to trouble the European places) the big clubs simply strip us bare.

In the back of my mind I’m aware that we’ve taken other smaller clubs assets several times over that period but never on the scale that Chelsea ransacked us.

We need a win and fast to restore that mojo. Saturday would be a bloody awesome way to start but I’m not optimistic.

Correct ! Good point. Poached nonetheless ! #barberIN
Nope - Barber had left Vancouver and returned to the UK when we picked him up.

If he was a player, you'd have described him as a "free agent" at the time.

From memory, he'd filled the gap with some consultancy work at Coventry, but it sounded like a freelance position, not as a full-time employee of the club.

Replying to myself...

"PAUL Barber, the man drafted in by Sisu to advise them on their running of Coventry City, has joined Championship club Brighton.

The 45-year-old, who has been helping City’s owners since April, starts his new role as chief executive of the Seagulls on Monday.

Barber had stints as executive director of Tottenham Hotspur and was the commercial and marketing director for the FA before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps but quit the Major League Soccer club in February.

He then worked for Sisu in a consultancy role at the Ricoh Arena, drafted in in an advisory capacity in the short-term to help turn the club’s finances around, including addressing the problematic issue of stadium ownership."

Seems to be so far, maybe he doesn't trust himself to look outside his comfort zone!

As an aside Chelsea fans are seriously underwhelmed by Sterling, Potter knows Trossard and may think he can do a better job at Potterball than Sterling, he's probably right too.

Anyhow I have no doubts at all that Potter will be back for whomever he wants from the Albion set up, that much is clear, surely?

We need GraPotty to leave the Amex with a LONGER face than usual.
Is it illegal to throw a pie at someone?

Would be so satisfying.

The zaha pie incident was great entertainment.
Someone threw a pie and possibly chips at Colin down at the Withdean which was amusing.
Potters not getting my Steak and Ale plus it’s a long way from the North would be a complete waste.
