The statement simply exposes what most people near to him know very well.
Beyond the bluster and populism he really is a nasty piece of work and doesn't give a stuff about "his party" but only himself.
It's not "the time" for him because he is unfit for public office and loves to spend other people's money on vanity projects. Pissed almost 1 Billion down the London sewer when Mayor up here.

So that was not much of a election it’s Rishi Sunak as PM completely unopposed to be anointed tomorrow makes one wonder what agreement was made with Boris to stand a side will he be given a government post maybe Chancellor or EU good will ambassador might be in the offing
