[NSC] Concerned about prolific poster

I have been wondering the last few days about [MENTION=435]Stat Brother[/MENTION]. He doesn't seem to have posted at all since 28 Aug which is highly odd as he usually adds a few a day at least to add to his gazillion posts over the last x years.

Just hoping he's okay.

I checked this yesterday, coincidentally, as I was also concerned.

Wow! I didn't see that at the time. That is pretty bad reading. I'd like to add my voice to those stating appreciation for many of [MENTION=435]Stat Brother[/MENTION]'s contributions. I hope he is just taking a short break, he is valued here.

I wouldn't be surprised. This place is full of egotistical, stuck up their own arse bullies.

He's doing OK, although as he said, he was affected by the post linked to above.

I hope he's back posting again in the near future, as the site is poorer for his absence.

If nothing else though - please take this as an example of how what you post may impact others. Give the benefit of the doubt and dial back the hostility and aggression - it's really not needed.

Keyboards provide a level of anonymity you don't get in life. It makes it very easy to churn out a couple of sentences off the cuff that you'd never say to anyone face-to-face.

I recently went back through some of my old Twitter posts, from my early-mid 20s and f**k me I was a tool. Because it was easy to be a tool. I've definitely been an arse to people on here too.

Not defending the post in that thread by a long margin - just making the point that it's easy to be unpleasant to someone when all you're looking at is a name on a screen.

I really don't think that's the case at all, in fact I think pretty much the opposite.

Whenever someone on here is in genuine need, there has always been a rallying round of genuine support and empathy. Most people on here are decent folk who want to do right by others.

"Most" does not equal "all" of course, and I think we have successfully weeded out the majority of those who are intent on being unpleasant. It's an ongoing mission though...
