Let’s face it. None of us have any idea.

Someone wake me up when an announcement is made.

I wonder what time frame the club are putting on this. A week has gone by and Naylor seems to suggest hardly anyone has been spoken to (if any).

I was surprised by reading that as well and we need to be careful as could easily have Villa and Leicester operating in the same market in the coming week(s)

An interesting name on that list is Arne Slot of Feyenoord, currently 20-1.

His team plays a 4-2-3-1 and are on fire this season, played 6, won 5, drawn 1. (2.67 points per match)

Last season, played 34, won 22, draw 5, lost 7. (2.09 ppm) and were runners up in the Europa Conference League. Beating Jorge Sampaoli's Marseille in the semi final.

Similar to how Potter changed Brighton's style, Slot took over from defensive coach Dick Advocaat and has converted Feyenoord into an attractive attacking side. A high pressing team who play the ball at a high tempo vertically through the opposition. Rather than a slow side to side build up.

We could do worse.

I suppose you have to remember in many situations when clubs find themselves without a manager, whether through sacking or otherwise, they install an interim/temporary manager because it is not always easy or quick to get a new manager in mid-season.

It has only been a week, most of our candidates appear to be in jobs abroad. I suspect the international break will give the opportunity to fly in and interview prospective candidates without them missing training sessions or matches at their current clubs. There will probably be a bit more activity on Monday I reckon once the international break starts, and we've agreed with clubs compensation packages and permissions to speak.

I don t think it works like that if a manager is in a job he won’t just come for an interview he will come for a contract otherwise he’s damaged the relationship with the club he’s already at.

I’m awaiting the club announcement Crofts and Lallana to take charge initially up until the WC.

That is what... 8? league games with someone who got his license in the summer and a bloke who is still playing for the team.

If true, I'll have to label that as slightly uncomfortable.

I agree with that. I'm not anticipating an announcement until the middle/end of next week. That will still give the new manager and coaching staff over a week before the Liverpool game.

That is far from uncomfortable, that is damn pure panic on the streets of five ways, panic on the streets of hanover, musclecomb, Hove and Whitehawk & I will wonder to myself will life ever be sane again.

Well I would imagine the top target isn’t available you would know that within a week. I could get behind Lallana he comes across as an intelligent chap of course we don’t know his managerial skills as yet.

I'm like 90% sure Roberto Martinez would be candidate no. 1 if available so you could be right about that.

I don't have any real problems with Crofts/Lallana but IMO it is a huge gamble if they decide to wait.

A Slot. Sounds cool.

Be a very interesting one. Big fish in a smaller pond or a smaller fish a big pond?.

The whole Euro thing has me suspecting that it's a non-starter, but he'd be excellent appointment.

Also got that Jahanbakhsh fella there, maybe he can come too :p

Risky yes, now it seems with all the names in the hat it’s into take a punt territory anyway.

Do you really think Martinez would be number 1 candidate? I'm not sure about him at all. Although if he brought Henry as his assistant I'd be all for it!

Again it’s remarkable how - cos it’s not wrapped up in a few days = club don’t know what they’re doing, they might as well just make a “punt”, go with Lallana , “anyone”.

I don't think there is any chance that Martinez will not take Belgium to the World Cup finals, one of the favourites to win the cup with an easy group to qualify from.
Dream on I reckon.
