I’ve got a few which do my tits in.

I’ll start with when fans complain that an offside shouldn’t be overruled by VAR because it’s not a “clear and obvious error”. This doesn’t apply to offsides. You either are, or you aren’t.

Both fans and experts saying all they want is consistency, yet they also want officials to use common sense and give players the benefit of the doubt in some situations.

Wow... the list is endless really. But I'll pick this one for now:

Blaming the goalie for any conceded goal and the striker for any missed chance is a classic. Some football fans appear to think the other 8-9 guys are only there to fill out the pitch. Overall the whole scapegoating thing in a team sport is just idiotic.

Similarly, I say blaming everything on a single event during the game and ignoring everything else that happened.

When a player is obviously not up to it; the manager knows it, the owner knows it, the pundits and media know it but fans claim 'he's been played out of position and needs more chances'.

Indeed. Very common not least when it comes to ref decision.. "zomg, we should have had a penalty"... yes, maybe, but you had 90 minutes to score a goal in another way. Blame yourselves.

Whipping the ball into the box is always the best option, even when your only option therein is a 5 foot midfielder

Being at an Albion home / away game, and a decision goes against us.
Then there's 'the fan' that has to stand and act like they're auditioning for a part, whilst opening their arms out in a praise the lord styleee and shouting out come on ref and then proceeds to swear profusely.

When VAR draws a line too many pixels thick from supposedly where someone's torso ends and arm starts, or which frame to freeze when the ball actually left the foot of the passing player then the notion of it being either you are or aren't is blown out of the water really as VAR simply isn't that precise or accurate.

General entitlement by fans who think they ‘belong’ at the top of the league. They’re wrong. No one belongs anywhere. That’s the point of a league.

Fans that think other fans have no clue about football whatsoever and just think the club they support have got it sussed. Have an opinion instead of the dull I trust the club.

Oooh, one for transfer day: Fans demanding the club spend $$$$$ not apparently considering that it's not their [the fans] money.

It's really easy to tell other people how to spend their money.

Fans who are always, always, always negative because they find it dull that a club is doing a good job.

Trusting the club is an opinion.

Heaven forbid supporters of a club support it.

I’ll add fans of ALL teams who say “let’s just get X player/manager for £lowfee”.

Crumbs, why don’t the owners think of that?!

Villa fans: “let’s just get Potter”
Man Utd fans “let’s just get Caicedo for £40m”

Fans don’t set the prices or decide whether a player or manager wants to even join their club.

The worst thing is Brighton fans are doing it a lot too, nowadays. “Let’s just spend £40m and get a top quality striker who will get 25 goals a season”.

Football. Doesn’t. Work. Like. That.
