I’m not his biggest fan although we went really flat after March and. Veltman left the field. Didn’t think much of Colwell and from my view point GP didn’t either and hurriedly got VH on.

Almost certainly? We could win the league with a better player in his place!
Well of course there are better players, but can you name any of them that want to come and play for us, and that we can afford? No one is saying Solly is our best player, but he's reliable (add your own 'to miss' jokes) and part of our best ever team. If we can get someone better in (or Lamptey gets back to his best), great, but until then, Solly is our best option.

Sorry? Solly had a great game and has reached a high level again after his unfortunate injury last season. He is not a striker and unfortunately fluffed the chances today but brings a lot to the team with willing endeavour

Just got back from the match, have I missed the 'We played so well and everyone is talking about that, which means I am really desperate for some attention thread' ?

He’s pretty bloody ordinary in front of goal but more than worth his place in this brilliant side

Do we have to draw battle lines on this? Surely the reality lies somewhere in the middle of the entrenched views on the thread?

Solly is clearly one of our best players this season. He's making a huge contribution.

But we have terrific players not starting. If someone else, for whatever reason comes in, in that position, takes those sort of chances and shows better end product than Solly then clearly yes his place is danger. It's ludicrous to suggest that ability to score and assist has no bearing at all on selection.

In any case I though it was wonderful to hear his name sung loudly as he left the pitch. I bet that gave the lad a real lift.

I’ll go out on a limb here and suggest that Solly’s confidence is getting better, once he scores a couple he’ll start banging them in regularly. The guy has so much ability and Potter is very slowly bringing out belief in himself. Be patient guys

I said that to my lad mid match, he just needs to tuck away one EPL chance.

Looked forlorn as he was subbed, over self-critical I suspect.
