Pervis Estupiñán

Can confirm he’s at the training ground today. This one is done and done (and I mean done). It’s around £14m plus £3m add ons.

Was it after after reading this ?

It’s quoted in full (in English) via

https://twitter.com/sport_witness/status/1559096275680854017?s=21&t=F72YhYgoOGLN-VpBJdUozA

Says he could be travelling as early as today, hes plumped for Brighton after an improved offer, it’s €18m + €5m add ons and Watford are getting a 20% sell on.

Only a matter of days before we have an "EXCLUSIVE" from Sir Naylor then.

Tedious.

He probably won't badge it as an exclusive, but if you mean he'll tweet it when it's officially announced, then you're right.

I know you hate all journalists, but that's how a lot of them work, rather than hedging their bets and 'confirming' stories before everything has been agreed, purely for the clicks, likes and subscribes.

Well yes. There's lots of people out there guessing and spouting claptrap. What we need are more people who's authority you can rely on

I'm Your Man
Wham!
---------------

Call him good, call him bad
Call him anything you want to baby
But I know, uh-huh, that we’re glad
And I know he’ll make you happy
With the one thing that you never had

Pervis, Estupinan
Don't you know that? Pervis, Estupinan
You bet, if he’s gonna do it, do it right, right
Do it with me
If he’s gonna do it, do it right, right
Do it with me
If he’s gonna do it, do it right, right
Do it with me
If he’s gonna do it, do it right, right
Do it with me

Yeah I know that's your idea of journalism - repeating official press communication. A merger between journalism and PR/marketing.

Thankfully there's still some journalists who are willing to do what I think is the core of journalism - investigating, revealing and uncovering pleasant and unpleasant truths.

That's Andy Naylor out then.

Andy Naylor gets a hard time on here for simply doing his job and respecting the clubs boundaries while protecting his sources. I suspect his contact at the club is Paul Camilin and if he looses him as a source he will be as blind as the rest of us which would make his job very hard. So you have to understand that he will only react when A- it is accurate and b- he has it on authority and can publish.

It’s not solely on Naylor.

He was on the Albion Roar podcast this week saying it’s Athletic protocol to not post or print anything until they have it double sourced. Otherwise he said he could be posting random rumours the whole time.

He isn’t the quickest and rarely the person who is first with news…. He is however mostly right about transfer information.

yep, this is spot on!

BTW I have recently become ITK. I wouldn't dream on posting things I find out on here as the consequences are simply not worth it.

Have Chelsea, Man City or Newcastle expressed an interest in him yet?

No, why would they? They'll wait for us to sign him for a decent fee, wait a year or two, offer an oddly low fee and then sign him from us for a ludicrous amount at the end of the 2023-24 season

Of course that's not 'my idea of journalism' you patronising Berk! It's not like that's what I spend all of my time doing all day.

Clearly, Andy Naylor researches stories, interviews people and writes features that don't repeat what the club has says. But he ALSO only confirms a signing when it's been completed and announced by the club. Mostly via Twitter, which isn't – as I'm sure most people would appreciate – journalism...

Reporters report the news. It's LITERALLY part of their job.

Quite right too. I can remember when the Albion ownership tried to ban Andy and his Argus colleagues from the Goldstone for having the temerity to report how the , then owners were asset stripping the club. So not sure he needs any lessons in how objective , as a poor long-standing Stoke fan, he should be or shouldn’t be when reporting on the club. Or a flawed definition of reporting for him to consider after 32 years in the business !
