Lots of pundits glowing about our performance today. Why all the negativity. I will be watching repeatedly all week.

Dion Dublin praising Albion throughout on the 5 Live commentary. Effusive praise for Caicedo, Welbeck, and Potter.
“They’re playing some really good football”

I'll probably watch it just to check that VAR hasn't yet disallowed the first goal for offside. Bet they would if they could.

Folk do seem a little obsessed with pundits not saying enough nice things about us. It's all a little needy.

Obsessed? No. Needy? Definitely not.
It’s what we have heard in the past when we have beaten a big team is some pundits saying how poor the big team played directly after showing the match highlights rather than mentioning how well the Albion played….hopefully this will now change.

Comments on the match day thread before KO mentioned Sky banging on about United and their new manager.

BBC Sport tweet on full time + a few others before any mention of us.

This.
And all the talk will be about United and not how well the Albion played.

Surely folk aren't still peddling that rhetoric about motd?! It's just not true - we got so much praise last season and detailed analysis about how we play and adapt our style, etc

I suspect we’ll be on second… but watched the top of the hour sky sports news at 6pm, and it was 9 mins of Utd reaction, 30 seconds of Potter, and then straight to a goal in the Bundesliga. Pointless

But have to agree that motd, and most pundits lavish praise on us usually these days.

See post above yours.

Man United are a huge global brand, one of the biggest in the world like it or not, and currently in complete dire straits despite yet another new manager and spending obscene amounts over the last few years. Its big news in the football world - wtf do you expect? And as I and others have said, we've been given plenty of praise by a whole host of pundits over the last couple of years. We're hardly under the radar, but we are still a provincial club so of course we're not going to be talked about anywhere near as much as the big clubs.

Anyway, I'd bet my bottom dollar that we get a sizeable amount of praise on motd tonight

I will watch it on MOTD2 , i don't normally watch MOTD but will tonight. If I were a pundit I would concentrate on how Brighton have sold 2 of their better players from last season and managed to still look good. Some of the play was brilliant , sometimes a little too many passes. I assume Pascal got MOTM but personally I would pick Caicedo, he was everywhere stopping attacks and getting the ball forward which was the platform for everyone else to play from.

Not needy ,but we deserve and have earned the due respect over a very very long time after a lot of very hard work by good people , or am i wrong ?

Manchester United have more fans than any club in the country, and possibly the world, plastic though they might be. They watch in vast numbers. They've got a new manager who is the messiah or something, and will definitely be the one to turn their fortunes around and make them the biggest team in the known universe once again (apart from Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday, obvs). It was his first league game in charge. The Ronaldo saga made it an even more mahoosive event than ever. And we spoiled it for them! So I'm perfectly prepared to put up with them a bit of chat about them, and will probably even enjoy it. In fact I definitely will.
