The dull part of the south coast
With the World Cup tournament taking place between 21st November and 18th December I reckon that will be six fixtures (based on corresponding dates over the last couple of seasons) that have to be slotted in elsewhere. So probably a lot more midweek evening matches on the horizon, or, could it mean that with international breaks not affecting the calendar, as in previous years, we play more weekend games?

Doesn't the season start earlier as a result?

The league usually starts mid August so it is starting a couple of weeks earlier than usual then.

So in effect an extra two weeks, beginning and end of the season, compared to 2021/22. Four fixtures maybe, two in each week?

There's also no International breaks in September or October, so a couple of extra weekend slots available there?
