Yeah I imagine Elton John is an absolute ****ing nightmare professionally.

I do like him, if not all his music.

He knows he an ordinary lad who became an impossible diva through drugs and fame.

He's never forgotten where he came from. I love his story about knowing when he had absolutely lost it when he called down at his hotel in London and asked them to do something about the wind.

Wasn't that impressed with his autobiography to be honest.

My opinion of the guy is that he is exceptionally talented, wonderful pianist, songwriter and singer. The last sort of person I'd want to know in real life - and that is just based on his own words, nobody else's.

I was a MASSIVE Elton fan in his early days. Nothing wrong with the music he did when he went all outrageous but it wasn’t for me. My favourite album was Tumbleweed Connection, still sounding good today to me

I remember him doing an interview and he was asked about Bernie Taupin and their partnership....

he said " Bernie was always very understanding over the years".... " He wrote the lyrics to probably one of the greatest songs ever, Candle In the Wind,and he never batted an eyelid when I performed it in front of 100,000 people at The Dodgers Stadium dressed as Donald Duck."

I went to see him and Eric Clapton at Wembley in '92. I went to see Eric and it seemed like a bizarre combination (which it was). He is good live but some of his releases make me want to turn the radio off, on the flip side a couple of them make me want to turn the volume up.

Saw him at Wembley circa 75. He was headline. On the bill were The Eagles, The Beach Boys, Joe Walsh, Chakka Khan and Stackridge.

Thousands (including me) walked out during BBBBenny.BBBBenny.BBBBenny.BBBenny... (etc) Tw@t.

We saw him at St Mary’s Stadium about 10 years ago - maybe more. He opened with Pinball Wizard, but soon after came Funeral for a friend. Whole family, me, wife and two daughters, thought it amazing. He also did Tiny Dancer, which has been a favourite of mine since I first heard it in 1972.

We also saw him about 30 years ago - maybe more - when he was on stage by himself for about 45 minutes, and then the percussionist Ray Cooper was revealed when the set opened up. Tremendous.

Great music for the most part and a very talented performer and a showman.

This is the only Elton John album I own (on replica gatefold mini sleeve CD from Japan) because it is utterly brilliant from start to finish. Although you've not posted the strongest song on it imho.

Have seen him live on a couple of occasions, he is very good . Billy Joel is equally as good in my opinion , seen him 5 times at Madison square garden over the years .
