Aren't most of our draws this season down to scoring late to gain a point, rather than being in a winning position and conceding late?

Well they are of course, but they are also due to our world famous profligacy. A slightly better chance conversion rate, we're right up the table with Wolves, West Ham etc

Draws where we had the lead but let it slip are Newcastle, Southampton (home) and Leeds. Draws where we came from behind are Chelsea (twice), Southampton (away), Liverpool, Palace (twice), West Ham and Leicester. There were also four 0-0 draws (Norwich twice, Leeds and Arsenal). So we only drew from a winning position 3 times and drew from a losing position 8 times.

My take is scoring in the 0-0 draws would be the easiest way to have gained more points.

We're being shadowed by Palace this season on 15 draws apiece, and with an extra game to play, they could even go on to secure more draws than us (and let's hope they do, as it means we finish above them!)

Our recent run of wins against Arsenal, Spurs, Man Utd and Wolves has thrown away our chance of taking the most draws in a season record. We're on 15, along with Palace. We can only reach 16 now, but with two games left, they could reach 17 and equal the most in a 38 games season. Good luck to them. I hope that they manage it. That would give them 47 points.

I had an evens bet with a Palace-supporting work colleague that we would finish the season with more draws than them. The bet was made when we had 3 (I think) more draws than them. I would bite your hand off to lose the bet.

Plenty of them have been away, where we have only lost 4 times..........almost always happy to come away from any PL game with a point. Fewer draws and more wins at home is the obvious area for improvement.

Don't be so hasty with your wrist munching, as they could still get more draws than us and finish above us. Their more favourable goal difference means that, were they to win one and draw the other, we'd have to beat West Ham to finish above them.

Damn; you’re right. Too hasty indeed.
