He doesn’t because with our scoring he needs to engineer tactics that deliver no defenders present, the keeper on the floor and a tap-in from 4 yards. It is his failure for not setting that up. :D

What helps GPott is the mental image that scenario conjures up with us all still with our heads in our hands.

Compared to most if not all in here I dont know a lot about the club you had and the league you played in but I do know quite a lot about the corporation you have and the market you act in.

You're mentally stuck in a football world that no longer exists. There's no magic fix, no magic manager who are getting you to Europe, no magic player who by himself is going to get the club from 15th to 5th. The reality of today is that you either spend obscene money to get a bunch of obscenely good players and thats the only way to compete judging by the looks of it, though Brighton is trying to find a brave away around it which may or may not work (we'll find out in a long, long, long time).

Can I please add "that will dessert you at the first sign of trouble"?
Thank you

It just isn't that clear cut.

The chances created were predominantly half chances and speculative digs from 20 yards.

Hoping Veltman or Lamptey can fire one in from distance does rather point to a failing in tactics (and banjoitis).

As much as GPott doesn't carry all the blame, he doesn't get off scot free either.

No, appreciated, but I seem to recall many shouts from these very forums for players to shoot occasionally, rather than try and walk it in.

Obviously this apparent change of tactics simply highlights the fact then that the players simply aren’t good enough, to either shoot OR walk it in. Hopefully there is some middle ground that will enable us to score the odd goal now and again...!

They need to aim for Maupay's arse and pray for a good deflection.

There is something of the way Bamber failed to support Pat Saward in that we are unable to fund that magic striker, the way that lack of support meant that Saward was unable to push us to the next level.

The amount of money Bloom has laid out for mediocrity, the waste of fees and wages for players we could barely give away.

Biggest difference is... there ain't no Peter Taylor or even a Brian Clough, no Ward or Zamora to save the day. We must know our place. Low to mid table prem league side.

In Potter we trust

He did Jim - because his original shot was on target. You don’t get lucky deflections when your shot is threatening spectators in row T.

Veltman had a header and a shot on target with no lucky deflection, Solly's attempts would have needed a deflection off something flying..........quite high

Those ....... seagulls, never in the right place when you need them. Surely we should be employing a bird trainer to get them in the right place when Solly is within shooting distance

Agreed. There was the Veltman chance - there was the Dunk header - they were the best two? The Maupay shot on an angle had a crowd of players blocking the far post and the keeper on the near, it was difficult and I wasn't surprised it went wide because he had to thread a needle into the top corner. Other than that it was just a procession of long shots that were speculators or Norwich blocks. This is related to our style of play, slow build-up with multiple passing allows defenders to track back and be in the right positions to make blocks, it's not a bug in our system it's a feature.

The penalty wasn't great build-up play, just a cross into the box that was bizzarely handled for a total gift

You may not be a South London interloper, but you are a not very nice person, for sure!

This person still insists, despite being directly informed by a mod that it is not true, that I have been posting on a second account . This person has repeated this lie today and I am not a nice person for calling him out ?

I have no second account.

I must be the only one on here that is happy with the players we have, actually quite excited when I look at the squad. Happy with the manager, not chuffed with the latest set of results but hey ho we will be in the Premier next season :albion2: ok happy clappy but yes happy

Well, if all that’s genuine, then clearly Swanny is wrong!

However, that doesn’t excuse someone of all, what 68 posts, for using profanities about an established poster, you could have a little more humility...!

He chose to call me a liar today and repeated it.

I thought I was being quite measured :D

Transfer balance in the Covid era (according to Transfermarkt):

Arsenal €-202m
Chelsea €-185m
Manchester United €-173m
Newcastle €-171m
Leeds €-166m
Tottenham €-159m
Manchester City €-135m
Liverpool €-123m
Aston Villa €-101m
Crystal Palace €-88m
West Ham €-80m
Leicester €-67m
Everton €-62m
Wolverhampton €-15m
Burnley €-4m
Brighton €-3m
Southampton €+6m

Added to that, a fair chunk of the money we keep spending is millions on 'prospects' that are immediately get loaned out. Positive for the long term but not investing in the first team now is coming home to roost.

P7 W0 D1 L6, 1 point from 21, goals scored 1 conceded 13 - that form often gets a manager the sack. I'm not saying it should but GP is a lucky guy.

Is it possible BHA won't score again at home this season?
Is it possible BHA won't win again at home this season?

The thought of not winning again this season is disappointing to say the least, btw what did you think of the recent C5 doc. on the Lilywhites (aka the Coldstream [emoji63]) ?

Shirley it’s now a money league more than ever?

(The West Ham squad cost £320m, Wolves have a super agent giving them exclusive access to quality continental players).

Exactly!! The question one must ask oneself is, where do you think we should be? Then look at the current table.
