Micah Richards is an absolute buffoon, an empty vessel. He’s one of those players who’s won the lottery of ‘played for a now rich/huge club when they weren’t rich/huge’ he was bang average as a player and is a clown as a pundit.

Now the Newcastle bang average ex-players are queuing up outside the MOTD studios….

Entirely agree. Keane was a great player, you can see why perhaps he wasn't a successful manager but he's an interesting and passionate pundit, although does over egg his persona sometimes. Richards was an average player (who I'm sure has implied previously he was also lazy, unlike Keane) and is both boring and highly irritating as a pundit. His reaction to Keane's comments is also rather disrespectful and I would have liked to see Keane lump him. And i can't stand Man U.

Almost exactly my sentiments to the last detail. I think Richards showed himself to be a right pr1ck tonight on there. I don’t like Roy Keane as a person, but he was absolutely right. Richard’s also got angry with Gary Neville later, who remained remarkably controlled.

I can imagine some viewers like the "clown" act but it's not for me, Clive. It's good to laugh but he doesn't seem to have much else to offer?

Why can't we have the likes of Henry Winter, Martin Samuel or David Walsh in the studio ? None of them are ex-players, but they give an INFINITELY better analysis of a football match than goons like Richards, who seems to think that laughing hysterically brings something to the table.

Monday evenings, 7pm onwards, I’m usually in the kitchen cooking dinner, which for me was always enhanced when accompanied by the Monday Night Club on 5Live and some thoughtful, insightful analysis and debate on the finer points of the weekend’s football.

Mark Chapman hosts, Chris Sutton offers a wry, under-stated and nicely self-deprecating line in analysis, Rory Smith brings some intelligent journalistic insight and forensic knowledge of players, managers, owners and sports politics and Micah Richards brings gales of forced and disruptive guffawing. I used to try and block it out but it really isn’t a pleasant listen and the relaxing start to the week I’m looking for as I potter around the kitchen. So I don’t listen anymore. It’s a shame as it used to be a great bit of radio but Richards’ bizarre trait of alternating between clowning and being overly- argumentative makes it an awkward dynamic and for me, completely unlistenable.

Richards protracted rant talking over Gary Neville about Rangnick was awful, a waste of their/our time.

Neville had only just joined them for the final half hour, let’s hear what he has to say ffs. He knows a damn sight more about Manure than Richards and since his mate OGS was sacked, he’s gone back to be an open book in his thoughts.
