How many goals has Toney scored this season?

Would he have fitted in with our style of play?

I notice you did not post after the Everton game

He is perfect for us. He would score a lot more with our supply line and can you imagine Maupay and Tross feeding off his hold up play?

On a general point, can someone post a link to the page that details all the players we are currently looking at as I can't find an official one.

Just because we haven't signed someone doesn't mean we aren't looking!

Probably been suggested but I think Teemu Pukki from Norwich would be a perfect signing for us on a 3 year deal.

77 goals in 133 games for a pretty poor Norwich side, realistic wage demands and likely Norwich will sell if they go down and the price is right.

He was on fire during Norwich's first season back in the PL. Age is obviously a factor but 31 isn't "mega " old... We resigned Murray when he was older than that. Would obviously depend on price and wages but could end up paying for himself if he had a good season or 2 with us.

16 goals in 50 PL appearances is just over a goal every 3 games
In a struggling team Looked at that way it’s not too shabby
Just think it’s highly unlikely due to his age
Murray I think was an exception to the rule as he had previous history at the club

Any chance we could tempt Traore?

Is the centre forward thing a bit of a red herring? Whilst it is frustrating to watch crosses like Moders last night which would have been nodded in by a 2017 Glenn Murray but were instead hit into empty spaces, a glance at the top scorer tables shows Maupay isn't doing too bad this season in contrast to last when he fluffed a load. Barring the Leeds miss we haven't seen the likes of Connolly missing 3 open goals this year and we have scored CF goals from nothing (e.g West Ham). Yes, it's a concern if Maupay and Welbz get injured but Spurs fans will say the same about Kane and Son or any other PL team excluding the Manchester Cities of this world. I'd be interested in how a young Jermaine Defoe would get on in 2021 as a goal hanging centre forward that doesn't run the channels or create space for others to run into but does score goals rarely gets picked in any PL team.

A lot more goals seen to come from Midfield. Gallagher has got 7 for instance. This is where we are piss poor. Lallana and Moder haven't got any despite numerous chances and game time in the league. Gross did his party piece last night. Bissouma never looks like scoring despite how talented he is. Mwepu and Macallister appear to be heading in the right direction but we aren't chipping in enough from other areas. Webster could have had a hat trick of headers yesterday. I'd love to see Nunez or the like come in but it won't stop the midfield missing presentable chances.

I was going to post exactly the same thing, but I think the plan is to develop our current midfielders into goal scorers. I think over the next year or two we will see Trossard, Moder, Mwepu and Mac Allister all scoring more

Every time my Mrs passes a shoe shop window she's looking at at least five pairs of shoes but she still seems to take about three years to decide which ones are best and then she'll only get them when they're on offer.

We’ve progressed, even in recent weeks. Mwepu, Moder and Mac Allister, for example, are better players than a few months ago.

Neville hit the nail about better, proven strikers - we can’t afford them, most EPL clubs can’t. All clubs know who those strikers are, no treasures waiting to be uniquely discovered by us.

So I’ve relaxed into allowing the striker situation to be resolved by the club as and when.

I suspect than Evan Ferguson and a new goal scoring midfielder will be the eventual solution.

Final point, Gross tucks away that pen and it would’ve been a win imho. Simple as that. Awful pen, I genuinely was gutted that he took the ball.
