It's all about website traffic and clicks not news hence the TWO pictures of her in a bikini. And it works obviously.

Always good when the penalties for highway deviance are splashed over the press as an example to others.

No doubt someone will disagree with me on here but in all seriousness, whilst Lucinda, and many others, chose to go on this show her family didn’t.

Valid point, but you this has been going on for more than a decade. Anyone signing up for instant fame knows what they will pay in return.

The brother did choose to go speeding and driving without insurance.

Oh come on, who hasn't broken the speed limit at some point? ...whilst not being aware of a speed camera having overlooked to insure their vehicle and then also forgetting to provide valid ID to the police. I think that is likely to rule most of us out. Public transport was invented for people like this and no I don't give 2 fcks how poor it is in Ditchling, that is not my problem.

I would be happy with a 10 year driving ban and a vehicle seizure and a more proportionate fine.

I disagree. The punishment for offences is prescribed in law. No where does it say public shaming is part of the punishment. It's the modern day version of the stocks.

The problem is that The Argus is a scummy publication who have lazy journalists ( many of whom don't appear to have English as their first language ) that use quick methods to produce their copy. So they screen scrape Tripadvisor, Rightmove, court lists and the council health rating websites to produce a so called 'story'. It really is a contemptable rag - can't even bring myself to call it a newspaper. In this case - what has his sister got to do with his speeding etc ? So why name her ?

Their only single saving grace is Brian Owen. Other than that, close them down.

Nowhere near as bad as many 'loved' Brighton players and their driving misdemeanors

A lot of journalism is like this, how many football transfers do we hear of that are completely invented BS? Eduard anyone?

As an aside, she's a 'no' for me. Something about the fame hungry modern day reality TV 'Celebs' (non entities) just turn me off.

You're right. He should be in the paper by his own merit.

Sounds like he needs his licence taking away from him and not just having 6 points stuck on it.

The point you should be making, is why should Lucinda be associated with him and not the other way around.

I think both of these cover it. The Argus regularly has an article of local people who were convicted of various levels of crimes/offences. So, he can't really complain that his offence has been listed. But focusing the article on her is where they've gone wrong, imo.

Wow, are you ok? Do you need a hug? I'm not sure the paper has earned that level of vitriol, but whatever gets your blood pumping, eh?

The Argus is what it is, a small local newspaper trying to stay relevant in an age where all of your news either comes immediately via social media or in detail in the big news outlets. It's why Naylor ended up at the Athletic, because he can take his time to write more in depth pieces rather than try and pile out content 30 seconds after a breaking story. As a result, the stories become less and less newsworthy.

Whether we like it of not (and I don't particularly like it), this is what local news is now. The bigger question is whether it justifies the paper's continued existence which, in the long run, it probably won't.
