This has just been on 6 Music and evoked so many memories. It's 1995, it's Friday night, we're in the Zap Club and the dancefloor is about to go OFF.

Mate, you should have been there a few years before on a Friday night!!! (If you were, then I apologise!!)

Was called 'Protection' and it was BANGING to say the least

Happy Happy Days :rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave::rave:

I was a Zap member through Protection, Red and that weird phase when Danny Rampling was resident. Probably my favourite residents were Dave Randall and Eric Powell.

However that tune only came out in 95 :)

Happy days and Happy New Year to you sir :rave:

For consistently good/great local nights out clubbing wise, the Zap was number one in my book.

Awesome place, fantastic tunes and decent people to boot

I've got two flyers up in my house from 1992/3, stolen off the wall during Protection nights!! One of them 10-8am............still can't believe we did it during those heady days!! :thumbsup:

Glad you 'got' the Zap experience in the 90s.......as the football we got to watch home and away then was DIRE!!!!

Okay, Jools Holland's New Year's Eve show has now reached the nadir of the White Heather Club that it replaced. Kids are out, wife's now gone to bed. I'm cracking a nice malt and listening to some real tunes. Lets start with this to show that it doesn't have to be this bad:

I never want to hear Vic Reeves sing live again. Why have a drunk comedy karaoke singer, completely out of tune take the last song. My ears are bleeding it was so awful. Jools, you’ve been mugged off mate. Wasn’t even funny.
