Way out West
To be fair to Townsend (a) Lukaku played pretty damn well - lots of lovely touches (mainly wasted by his team-mates). Only Kante was anywhere near him on the Chelsea side; (b) there was no real stand-out on our side....pretty much everyone had a VERY decent game. Difficult to pick one person out (although I would have given MotM to Bissouma); (c) he completely laid into Tuchel's pathetic post-match excuses.

He is an absolute dinosaur. Surprised he’s still working as a pundit tbh. Equally surprised anyone even listens to what he says though I couldn’t help but notice the Motm nomination. Just lip service for the plebs.

Him, souness, Redknapp off the top of my head, all very narrow minded and basic analysts. The modern football fan requires more than 90’s / 00’s sound bites.

I usually don't have much time for the biased pundit argument, but blimey.

It was like the old days when the Brighton commentary on the website wasn't working so you had to log in and listen to the opposition's local radio.

.. or like watching an England game.

Chelsea players routinely referenced by their name, but Brighton generically referred to as "Brighton" throughout.

There was a pundit who hadn't bothered to do their homework.

Appalling.

Game of 2 halves for him. Didn’t notice in 1st, but as 2nd went on it became increasingly apparent. His MoTM was laughable, lost all credibility. Did well not to say “we” or “us” by the end.

Did he have any credibility to lose????? he is overdrawn

duffy was referred to as "still out with covid" when he was named as a sub

whilst poor old thomas was down to his last 150m worth of unused subs

Apart from the personnel, the Amazon coverage is very good. I know these things are very generic (the cameramen, the feeds etc..) but I do like the way they make the highlights and interviews available as separate videos.

Early days for them but they need to ditch the old school pundits and find new faces. Bit more difficult with the main commentators because that it is a skill.

Just be thankful you didn't have the Peter Drury/Andy Townsend dream team. For some reason DAZN often puts them together for the perceived "big" matches.

Townsend's mindless drivel, alongside Drury's ridiculous hyperbole whilst pretending to be a poet.

I just have to turn the sound off. It's unbearable.

We have far too many precious fans but if after tonight I am a fully paid up member of the precious fan club then so be it.
It wasn't just Townsend, it was all of them from the start. The interviewer pre match was literally taking the piss out of Potter.
You know you are right when you call out Townsend before he has opened his mouth and then not only fails to disappoint but actually manages to be worse than you ever thought.

The thing that annoyed me was the close-ups on (mainly Chelsea) players while the game was carrying on. I get the need for replays and cutting away from the game, but that's normally when there's a break in play, not when a team is on the attack! Not sure if that's down to Prime, though? I saw a BT ident at the end of the coverage, which made me think BT Sport had some sort of control. But then I've watched games on there where that doesn't happen...

One thing I agree with him about is that Tuchel should stop complaining about too many games, too few subs, etc, etc.

As Townsend said, that is the way the Premier League (top league in the world) is set up. If he doesn't like it he shouldn't have come here to manage.

He honestly wouldn’t shut up for 91 minutes, don’t think he said a word after the equaliser.

Aluko though put him to shame, she was absolutely furious.
