[Albion] "His deep-rooted dismay at the level of support at the Amex Stadium spilt over..."

The half empty ground on 80 minutes irks me the most, even when we are winning its half empty, I think a lot of people in the stadium are passive and have a season ticket because they can get one and its seen as a status thing in Brighton (IMO). The fanbase has a core level and I think after the pandemic and 5 years in the premier league interest is starting to wane. Would be interesting IF we eventually go down how many people bother hanging around for championship football every week.

The core fanbase that goes to games is probably not much more than 10k IMHO, 15k at a pinch. Beyond that, pretty much everyone else is an EPL tourist to a greater or lesser extent

I love a late Albion goal partly because I am still dumb founded that people trot off and are happy to miss the conclusion of the thing they are watching. And what with 5-10 mins added on time quite common now there are plenty of late goals flying about in matches. (And because I'm a bad person I like to laugh at them. Sad but true).

Right from the outset (of Albion v1.2) we've been buggers for a late goal.

Before our change of seats the 4 in front always left around about 80 minutes.

They must have missed half a dozen last kick winners including THE last kick winner.

I find it baffling you can miss that moment only to then keep repeating the mistake.

The last 15 minutes of a game has always been the most goal rich pretty much independent of leagues and teams and eras. So yeah leaving early is bound to make you miss some great pleasure and great pain.

When you see dunk play the ball across the back to Webster who then plays it back to dunk who then plays it back to Webster deep into stoppage time with all the Leeds players well in their half its no wonder a few fans vented their opinion at full time

The few of us left, near me, were all doing exaggerated pointing to the other end of the ground.

That makes a bit more sense that it was something our Graham has been stewing over - because post-match to have that sort of rant (in a couple of interviews) after hearing, let's face it, not many fans booing a disappointing result was completely over the top. My initial reaction to what Potter said was maybe he wants out. Perhaps some club is in his ear and he is preparing the ground. It did seem a strange reaction - and from a person that always chooses his words he will have known the fan reaction to come.

My other thought was that - he was protecting his players who did not deserve to get booed by some entitled fans.

I hope it was the second. Only our Graham knows.

The Cult Of Potter is a busted flush. Be quire funny to see the cult members slowly but surely disassociate themselves from their godhead in the coming month(s)

The Boo-Boo and Yogi Beard thread.

Yogi Baird deserves his own thread (at least more than another on boogate)

(I love that he's wearing his watch in this! :lolol:)

I'm sure those few fans would have been delighted if Dunk or Webster would have played it to some non-existent space covered by Leeds players to lose 0-1 on a counter.

Its no news that some people dont understand why the ball is not always going forward in any given moment regardless of whether it would be a good idea or not.

If Potter does go I hope we avoid the Ashley Barnes narrative that he was driven out of the club by posters on here. I doubt it though. With pitchforks at the ready, torches will be lit.

If you see it there wasn't a Leeds player within 20 yards dunk or Webster could have carried the ball well up the pitch where all our players were waiting for it to launch a last minute attack.

Brighton factually.....

Rubbish, NSC does not hold that kind of sway and to suggest the majority on here are calling for his head, is again rubbish. I have complete faith in Potter and what he is trying to achieve here, everyone knows we need a striker and folks are getting frustrated by the realisation, we really are a great team and just need the missing piece in the jigsaw to turn highly achievable results like Newcastle, Norwich and Leeds into an extra 6 points, we would be 4th !!
We are all frustrated and include Potter in that.

To suggest we few could drive him out is nonsense as you allude to by saying you doubt it.
