GP must have seen something in him,,,, oooorrr.......... the club are trying to raise his profile to get a few more pennies if they can offload

I know...I kinda felt the same...but SURELY GP wouldn't put him on to try to help the Finance department? surely not, I just don't believe it. GP more likely to put him on out of a sense of loyalty to all the squad members (IMO), or maybe Locadia does show some useful attributes in a training game. If so, it's time to stop the experiment. Sarmiento should be above Locadia in the pecking order, as should other U23s (who have no less chance of affecting the game than Locadia).

It often comes out later (or never comes out at all!) about contractual issues surrounding strange selections/substitutions/transfers. I wouldn't be surprised if perhaps there was something like this going on, but we'd probably never know.

Players nowadays can have outrageous clauses in their contracts, well beyond simple appearance fees or goal bonuses.

His contract is up in June, and he has no incentive whatsoever to leave before then, unless we just pay him up in full. If we are going to pay anyway, we may as well keep him here the final 6 months.

I'd pay him up in full and get rid now. I assume he is using club resources in addition to his salary: food, kit, medical etc.

If that were the case surely it makes more sense to throw him on against Man City when we're already nailed on for defeat than at 0-0 in a winnable game? If he's shite when we're already 3-0 down to Man City nobody's going to notice.

No point in doing that until after January 31st - if he can get a new club he'll want to cut a deal on what we pay him.

Well he's right. He doesn't fit in with a PL team.

I mean, what a kn0b posting this the following morning after your first PL appearance in ages.

He didn't fit in with the footballing giants of Cinncinnatti either. What an absolute bell end. Get out of our club.

I think I’m right in saying none of those in the first batch you mention are central strikers.
Locadia is a central striker, just a very very limited one.
The others would be a real shot in the dark. Then there’s Connolly, who is a similar standard to Locadia.
Let’s face it, the options we have up front are dire. Comfortably the worst in the Premier League and barely average for the championship.

Our striker options are comical, must be the worst in Prem ?? Utterly embarrassing

Bringing on Locadia was simply a message from Potter to Barber/Ashworth/Bloom/Recruitment team.

The message was - “Maupay couldn’t hit a barn door with a banjo tonight and this is all I have left in the locker. Sort it out FFS”.

Fully agree with this

We need a total rethink on the striker situation. Locadia can go, Connolly can go, and im not sure I see us giving Welbeck another year after this given his fitness. Next season we'll have the option of bringing Sima, Zeqiri, Ferguson or Tolaj into the first team but really we need to be signing 2 Premier League quality strikers. A tough task given our history on the matter.

Andone needs to steer clear too given his form, fitness and behaviour whilst on loan.

We definitely won't sign two.

A bad move from Potter who is supposed to have great man management skills.
What must all the other subs sitting on the bench think when Potter chose Locadia over them to go and win the game for the club

So let's imagine that TB decided we simply had to push the boat out and sign two strikers who would actually agree to come and play for us. Suggestions? Eddie Nketiah? Divock Origi? Dane Scarlett? Where are all these PL-quality strikers?

Potter didn't sign Locardia.

You seem to be missing the point here (read the thread and the posts by people who know what they're on about) and have turned into another dull Potter bully.
