I confess that there are a few Adele songs I quite like but more than one track is a no no for me

There are many current singers who are way more shit imo, warbling female sounding male singers especially

Adele has a great voice, no doubt about that, its most of her songs, same depressing dirge.
Abba famously sang about their woes in life but at least they did it with melody.

Here's a fact for you. S Club 7 have had twice as many UK number one singles as Adele.

For the record, I haven't had any (though I'm renowned for the occasional killer number two on a Sunday morning after a night out), I just find that her actual record doesn't quite live up to the adulation she receives. I say that as someone who doesn't mind her music and has no particular views on her as a person either way. Well marketed, I guess.

I am not surprised that you don't listen to music on the radio Harry, does a station exist to satisfy your taste?

Youtube

(My algorithms are well established and extremely useful for suggesting new music I will like, but I will override and actively search too; 3 years ago I hadn't even heard of witch house, trap, wave or phonk).

Music for Heart FM listeners, when I have the misfortune of working in a property where the customer has this shite radio station on, I’m sure Adele is played several times a day

I concur, the plus side to Heart FM is that my productivity increases as I need to vacate the property ASAP.
On the other side though either my phone rings, or my customer comes in and starts chatting or the bloody dog barks just as Popmaster starts.

Have you ever tried WFMU?

There are some superb remixes by the witch house remixer, Black Ceiling. I'll be honest and confess these are the only versions of her songs I have ever heard (I don't listen to music on the radio) and I think they are stunning:

There was also an absolute tonne of British rappers who used a remix of Hometown Glory to rap about their borough/estate. :lolol:

In hindsight it was absolutely bonkers. An Adele sample with a (now convincted rapist) rapping "I'm from a hood where/ ladies wear hoodwear/ if less than 5 people die it's a good year." over the top of it. Such a weird mixing of worlds.
