I take no pleasure from this, hard to believe that no so long ago they ran us ragged in the playoffs. I have had some memorable trips to Derby, the cup game we lost at the Baseball ground being one of them. The first time I ever had mushy peas from a local chippy too,

So dissapointing to hear of th racist and homophobic abuse today from Derby fans at Peterborough. Hope the EFL throw the book at them.

I'll always regret leaving the Baseball Ground, it was very nearly redeveloped back in about 1995, very fond memories. I know people think some of us are Dinosaurs but there isn't a modern ground that could come close to capturing the atmosphere of the BBG.
There isn't a modern ground that could come close to capturing the state of the pitch either

Part of the charm innit....
People do like to get misty eyed over the old stadiums but you must remember that for much of your time there you were reasonably successful, so the BBG was fairly full. Old grounds were always great when they were heaving - much better atmosphere than the modern equivalents.Me neither!

On the other hand, they could be soulless places when you were watching shit. Unlike Derby, we spent a lot of our time being crap at the Goldstone. It was electric when playing to anything over 20,000 but not so good when 6-10,000 were turning up, as was mostly the case in my experience.
It will be interesting to see what you think If you get relegated - your gates will drop to 20,000 which I think will be preferable to the 9 or 10,000 you were getting at the BBG when it last happened. Can't imagine the BBG was all that fun then.

Not for me! Too young to remember the league championships and European cup nights! My arrival at the BBG coincided with our plummet to the third division - Honestly though, best football days of my life were the 80s - BBG half full was magic, honestly. There's almost more camaraderie when things hit rock bottom don't you think, more of a sense of fun.
It will be interesting if we go down but, to be honest, the atmosphere at Pride Park is so much better with a slightly smaller crowd, I think you get back to the more passionate hardcore

This post has just made me realise that Derby are now Wayne County. I hope they are playing some of Jayne's records with the Electric Chairs at half time. Okay they were mostly awful, but then they wouldn't have been out of place last year.
On a less flippant note, after Sam's winning goal, I just read the comments from Liam Rosenior on the BBC's report and remembered that he's Rooney's assistant. I'm now feeling more positive towards them.

Wasn't it Derby that started the whole "we should be beating teams like Brighton" when we beat them 1-0 back in 2004 in our first Championship spell.

It’s the fault of the pandemic apparently. Nothing to do with them repeatedly gambling with FFP (and losing) every season using creative accounting in an attempt to get into the promised land of the EPL. Looks like they’ll be doing some time in League One for their troubles now. A lot of time.

Mel Morris, sly to the end, a proven FFP cheat, he hasn’t even filed the June 2019 or June 2020 accounts yet which would’ve told the EFL all they need to know for another points deduction.
As well as his disgusting treatment of Richard Keogh (sacking the injured player, allowing the two drink driving players to stay).
Wonder if Keogh will now be robbed of the compensation awarded by the courts? Many creditors will lose here.
He should’ve acquired far less expensive players and not attempted to cheat a promotion.
