I'm trying to recite verbatim, the complete poem of "Can ye see yer way to lend us twenty quid until I get my giro ". One of me faves.

He has had several immitators, especially in the Brighton area, who make up stuff like: "can ye be guid enough tae lend me a couple of poond fae the bus, A've lost me wallet an' cannae get hoom tae my dearrr wee chuldren wi'oot ya hielp". Fairly inspired stuff, but derivative of the more direct, and classic works, of McTeagle.
