They will probably get interviewed on tv as “Big Worthing fans”I began by showing him a text my mate sent me, his neighbour a lady in her 20’s with two children 5 and 3, was so ‘excited’ Friday night, as they’d got 4 tickets to the game on line, and they’ve never seen Worthing play before, despite living 10 minutes walk from the ground
Well said. 100% there was always a better way. I suggested along slightly similar lines elsewhere but got short shrift and abuse plus the familiar line, 'what else could the club have done it such a short timescale.' With creative planning, plenty. The clues were there as to potential demand with late season 2k plus attendances and the sell out of the semi final - for which 'as I understand' season ticket holders weren't even given a priority window. The approach to sales was naive at best, lazy at worst. The first rule of high ticket demand - you look after your most loyal fanbase. WFC sadly failed in that regard. Lessons will surely be learned whichever league they are in next season. It was always a challenge in limited timescales but regardless, there were better options. This had been far more fairer and provided the base for a full and frank exchange of opinions I had with the general manager on Sat lunchtime.

From the moment they won the semi last Sunday the solution was there.
Monday get a local printer to print the tickets.
Tuesday 9am put them on sale to season ticket holders and sponsors.
Wed 9am general sale at the Ground max 2 per person, have the box office open till 9pm, then same again Thursday at 9am till you sell them out.
4 per person on line has been a farce
Thankfully with a bit of ducking and diving everyone I know who wanted a ticket has got one.
But win or lose today I hope WFC learn from the experience.
I have absolutely no knowledge of the ground however assuming a good majority isn’t covered, I hope it fills out despite the weather and ticket shambles todayWell said. 100% there was always a better way. The example you quote is sickening. Fans who've been going for years and were there in the dark days plus a long serving former club official, have struggled to obtain tickets. The club official is now sorted but he should never have been in that situation. I'm informed its pissing down in Worthing at the moment. How many of those first timers/fair weather bods will now decide to give it a swerve despite having tickets?
A shame that some who would've watched this match at Woodside Road, despite the weather, have missed out on tickets. There are certainly a group of fans, who do have tickets but will not be going because of the rain. I have only been to a couple of Worthing matches this season and will be watching them on TV today, as many others deserve the tickets more than I do.Don’t know what the weathers like in Worthing this afternoon (I’m 30 mins away and it’s pissing down) but wonder how much this will deter the JCL’s from attending, knowing that those loyal would attend rain or shine but they won’t be able to get in.
No idea how much tickets were but suspect they were in the willing to sake off for the warmth and dry range
Looking forward to watching my first Worthing game on the box later.
Just seen an Albion fan I know on FB posting a pic of himself and two others. Two are regular home and away Albion fans who I know never go near Woodside Road.A shame that some who would've watched this match at Woodside Road, despite the weather, have missed out on tickets. Aren’t you glad for Paul Barber OBE’s superb loyalty points system? Wouldn’t happen in Brighton.Just seen an Albion fan I know on FB posting a pic of himself and two others. Two are regular home and away Albion fans who I know never go near Woodside Road.
